Golden Gate Park Golf Course
At the western edge of Golden Gate Park , facing the Pacific, is this 9-hole, par three public course. Start at Beach Chalet , fill your lungs with fresh, salt air, and play your way towards the surf around the gnarled Monterey Pines. No advance reservations are available at this course, you get your tee times on a walk-up basis. If you have some time to spare before teeing off, visit the nearby Buffalo Paddock or Queen Wilhelmina's Tulip Garden. Check website for details.

im a junior and i love playing this course for 4 bucks on a weekday...i just pull together some change from under the couch ta play a nice par 3 course...it is also easy to fit in your scedhule since u can finish this round in less than 2 hours...i go 6-8 am on a weekday and still be ready for school...haha!
For a less etiquette-conscious course my friend and I expected a relaxing 9 holes and brought a few drinks and snacks to eat while waiting for people in front of us to finish the hole. Instead the cashier held our back pack at the door.
To avoid the golf Nazi, just pay the green fees and bring your personal belongings straight to the tee. You'll avoid the hassle and can focus on enjoying your game.
This is a very nice par-3 course, right in scenic Golden Gate Park. The course is great for beginners - the longest hole may require a 3 wood, or a long iron off the tee. While this course can play quickly, it is not uncommon for long delays on the tees. It is a muni course and typically tends to attract the beginners and mid-tier golfers. The course is very inexpensive and an enjoyable way to spend 1 1/2 on the course vs. 4+ hours... If you're from out of town and looking for other nine hole choices - try the Fleming course at Harding Park, which is a longer, more difficult 9 hole course. Golden Gate offers a fun golfing experience in a beautiful setting.
I've played here 3 or 4 times. If your expectations aren't too high, this course is a blast. True, it's only par 3, but if that's all you expect you will not be disappointed. If you have a resident golfing card you can save some money. The wait for tee off is usually not that long. There is a practice green and a net for practicing your tee offs.
A spin off of Chow on Market Street, this second edition favorite draws in a steady and youthful crowd. It
could be due to the prime location just steps away from Golden Gate Park . The weekend brunch on ...
