It features primarily romantic, realistic paintings and takes pride in making available to its customers both contemporary and old master works, including works of early California painters. My wife and I happened upon this delightful shop during a recent trip to San Francisco. In addition to the lovely and varied artwork, we were lucky to meet Imre Buvary, one of the gallery's featured artists. After spending a delightful hour chatting with Imre, we purchased our first orginal Buvary painting. After returning home, I contacted Julie and ordered a second original Buvary as a surprise Christmas gift for my wife. Our plan is to buy at least one new piece from these lovely folks every year. Do yourself a favor and get to know Olga, Julie, and Imre. Steve and Barbara Tuttle

Very Good Collection

My wife Lulu and I found this shop quite by accident and are so glad we did. The variety was great with paintings that range from Old World European Classic to Contemporary offerings. Many new artists and some established talents from the Bay Area are available. The new owner, Julie Venosa is the daughter of the founder Joseph Kertesz and has worked in the art world most of her life. Lulu fell in love with a landscape by San Francisco painter Buvary and it now hangs over our fireplace. Only a couple blocks from Union Square on Sutter, this is one gallery we will certainly visit again. Oh and be sure and tell The Duchess that Michael and Lulu say hello. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cagliano.

Honesty and beautiful art.

As a long time collector, I have found this San Francisc gem to be an absolute must for the serious or just starting fine art buyer. The Kertesz site will give you the range of offerings, but the thing I look for is the staff being truthfull and having a great understanding of their inventory and guidance for the novice to the world buyer.Owned and operated by the Kertesz family, The matriarch Olga Kertesz and her lovely daughter Julie treat you like guests in their home while Master artist Joseph Kertesz is in his studio applying the finsihing touches to his latest creation.This small gallery has something for everyone and as a client of some 14 years I recommend a visit to purchase the piece you will treasure a lifetime or to just say hello to some of the some of the warmest people in this beautiful, yet often chilly city.
