Dianda's Italian American Pastry Co, San Francisco

born and raised in the mission, our family would always buy the birthday cakes and pastries there...now i live in guadalajara but my parents still go there to buy their delicious strawberry cake and rum cake etc, soooooo gooooooooood, when i get to go to san francisco, diandas is a must p.s. going on the big 50. and will always be true to diandas.

i think Dianda's is the best bakery in Bay area, i live in Monterey and i will make a trip to SF for my bakery goods. i wish they would open one here in Monterey County. Have an eclair!!! or rum cake. wow i love it!!!!!!!!thank you for being there.

Every time I go,I'm delighted with the girls smiling at me with the exeption of a girl who proudly weares her name tag(Elvia)she is always dead serious,and never greets customers.But that doesn't stop me from going almost every day for my morning coffe and danish.

Bakery Nirvana! A few years back I moved away to Phoenix, Arizona. EVERYTIME, I return to visit San Francisco I MUST get my favorite Rum cake and Pannatone(spelg?) bakery goods. No place in Arizona have I found a bakery close to comparison...not even the fancy resorts in Scottsdale can compare to the taste and the prices. This bakery is a MUST on my list for visitors and locals alike. Just this morning I was thinking of the excellent pastries and cakes I wished I had to eat with my coffee...Oh well until next time...:)

freshly baked pastries that are as visually appealing to the eyes as they are to the palate. it is not unusual to see customers lined up buying tasty, mouth watering deserts. diandas is the anti-thesis to corporate bean counters who make products that "look" decent but taste like cardboard. Their pies and cakes are works of art. When you buy their creations to take home the box is wrapped in string the old fashioned way. outstanding place.

Dianda's has a prodigious array of superbly made pastries. While somewhat Americanized, they still hold true to their European roots. The rum fillings are exquisite, the napoleons are my favorite with pastry of superb quality. Their cakes are delicious and beautifully decorated. Anything from these shops would bring kudos to the hostess who served them. Of course, I like to just go for a napoleon break on occasion and enjoy my pastry on the spot! The prices are surprisingly low for the quality of the products. Making them an even more worthwhile acquisition. I try to make it there at least every couple months for a treat and for EVERY occasion requiring a cake. The distance from my home to the San Mateo shop is a bit on the far side, but I drive it willingly because the product is worth it. I'll be returning whenever possible!

Everything you read on these reviews is TRUE! The ALMOND TORTE is a MUST try .. along with the famous Panettone, St. Honore, all the cakes and scrumptious cookies too. You just can't go wrong here. Put it this way, I drive over 50 miles to get to these delights at least once/year! (they're the best holiday office presents!)

Every year for my birthday, since I was a little girl, my mother would go to the Italian American bakery for my St. Honore cake! I am bordering on 50 and the only thing I am really looking forward to is celebrating with this gastronomique treat! I have never eaten anything better and assume I never will. They are masters at their craft!
