Cake Gallery (The), San Francisco

A bakery that is not quite for kids (but they do have cakes for children). The interior of this specialty establishment is a little on the dingy side. Perfectly hygienic, mind you, but the ambiance cries out for a plain brown wrapper. That's how it should be because it turns out (and proudly displays) cakes with, shall we say, anatomically correct configurations, right down to the color palette of the frostings. The staff is happy to tackle custom orders, too. They enjoy browsers and make the experience of shopping here an exercise in good, clean, yet supremely naughty, fun.
