House of Bagels, San Francisco

Visiting my parents in San Francisco for more than a few days used cause in me a longing for my daily bagel and craem cheese ritual (I live in the bagel capital, New York). NO MORE!! After discovering House of Bagels at 5030 Geary, I can say that real New York bagels can be found in San Francisco!!! My favorite is Onion with their homemade lox and onion cream cheese! I was surprised to see it wasn't red like the L&O cheese from home and I learned it is because they don't use any food coloring-- just lox, green onion and whipped cream cheese! Fantastic! Apparently this store has been in business for over 40 years (don't know why I hadn't heard of it sooner)!
