Far from the actual British Isles set in the proverbial silver sea is Mayflower Inn as close to the real thing as it gets in Northern California. The place is hopping with dart games in the bar and hearty pub fare in the restaurant, including what aficionados have described as a particularly toothsome steak and kidney pie. There is also shepherd's pie, fish and chips and a sherry trifle that is rich and maybe a bit too strong for the kids who have their own menu here. The mood is rollicking but not riotous for the local regulars with the wait staff making everything run smoothly in the party atmosphere.
