Description

Fisherman Wharf's oldest restaurant began as a crab stand in 1920 serving seafood cocktails out of a paper cup. Today it is a successful fine seafood restaurant specializing in traditional Sicilian recipes. Sitting right on the water, it offers one of the best views of the Bay. The upstairs dining room offers an old-world charm and an award-winning wine list. The downstairs offers favorites that include the homemade seafood sausage, an exclusive Crab Cioppino and a rich Seafood Risotto. The Oysteria serves seafood cocktails, pizza, salads, soups and sandwiches. The service is great.

Very Good but bring your wallet
By ,
Awesome food great atmosphere and views but quite spendy. It makes a memorable place to live it up on a trip to the warf. As to the comments about the smell well not true in the restaurant but outside it's rather aromatic but duh...it's at the fish market!

not worth it
By ,
View is nice, food was okay, service was horrible and the server was rude to everyone in there. I don't mind paying high prices when it's a great experience but the service really leaves something to be desired. Turns out the server was related to the owner, explains why he's still there. Won't be back. Plenty of other great places to eat in San Francisco - don't waste your time here.

a bit too pricey
By ,
i am in town from cleveland and came here with my husband....i had the lobster tail which was advertised at market price, no big deal, right? WRONG? I guess I should have asked, but at 72$, wouldn't you think a salad would have been included----live and learn I guess, but will definitely ask what marker price is from now on---Renee

Simply the best
I had the Swordfish and it was exceptionally good. I liked it so much I came back two days later and had it again. The place is absolutely the best restraunt I have ever been in. I loved it. It was busy, but there were plenty of wait staff to handle it. I did get my food a little early on the second time I was there, but the waiter asked me if it would be alright to bring it early as they had a large party they were cooking for. I agreed and it was no problem whatsoever getting my food a few minutes before I ate my salad. The view of Fisherman's wharf is like a storybook.

Worst in SF
By ,
There was a dirty smell all over the place. The food is really terrible, the worst I have experienced in SF. Prison food is better. Never, never again.

Wish I could stay..

The Seafood Sausage is great. The tuna was fantastic. The service was good (Thank God, I would not have had the Seafood Sausage if it was not for the waiter)

I didn't see why everyone loves this place!
By ,
When we went, the restaurant must have been having an off day: we waited for someone to wait on us for quite some time, and finally, someone showed up. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and our entrees. We got the drinks, and later on, our entrees, but had to remind our waiter about the appetizer we had ordered. We went ahead and started eating our meal, and after a few bites, I noticed a hair in the sauce on my prawns. This was the "hair" that broke the camel's back! We were eventually able to get someone's attention to get our waiter for us, and when he showed up, he had our appetizer FINALLY. I discreetly advised him of the hair in my food, and declined his offer to replace the entree. My appetite was gone at this point. I know things like this happen from time to time, but the combination of events at this place in my first visit guaranteed it was my only visit.

Romantic Italian Atmosphere
By ,
To begin with, the view is absolutely amazing. The staff was completely attentive to our needs, and extremely kind. I had the tuna seared-amazing, my husband had the lobster-it melted in his mouth. Must try the Sicilian style calamari for an appetizer, nothing will beat it. All around pleasure to be there, will go again in a heart beat. Recommend highly for a nice meal to begin or end your trip on the right note.

Outstanding

The seafood sausage is awesome. Additionally, I would recommend the calamari. Very high class, and very tasty.
