This is a beautiful oceanside restaurant that offers excellent views, live music, fine seafood and a story rich with local history. After your meal, take a walk on the beach or sit by the fireplace and enjoy an after-dinner drink. The menu specializes in steak and fresh seafood. The champagne brunch comes at a fixed price of $23.95 that includes unlimited champagne, fresh-squeezed orange juice, coffee or tea, fresh-baked muffins, country-style potatoes, fresh fruit, an espresso drink and your choice of entree. Located 30 minutes south of San Francisco in Half Moon Bay, the drive is unforgettable.
First of all, I've been coming to this place for the last 20 years and last night my husband and I decided to come and enjoy the food once again and the service, but since they added the new outdoor patio. The patio is beautiful and the place was packed with people trying out the new change in looks by the ocean. The view was beautiful and we watched the sunset from outside. Fire pits around us and heat lamps and lights and they had music you can hear from inside that played earlier than 9 pm, which they use to start live music.
We ordered Shrimp and crabmeat with pasta. It took over an hour to get our food delivered. They did not have enough waiters working there. We had to wait 45 minutes at our table for our menu and when we order a drink, it was all watered down as I think the drinks were sitting on the bar waiting for the waitress to come and get it. She was too busy with other tables. The shrimp said in the menu that it was "cold water shrimp" and it was little tiny shrimp. The clam chowder was not the same either. It was too salty. It use to be soooo good. We asked the waitress at the end of our meal when she delivered "cold" coffee.....if the place was under new management or if they had a new chief and she said, no. We were so dissapointment with the food as it the prices for everything went up sky high and you didn't get your money's worth. I would be willing to pay for it only if we had the same food that we use to order there. It was so so dissappointing to us. We will not go there ever again. And it is sad since we were there just before we got married and I wanted to show my husband what good food they had and etc. and that was only three months ago.
I think people will find out after their first meal there and the lousy service and they will decide to go the Moss Beach Distillery or somewhere else on the coast in or near Half Moon Bay, because that is what we are going to do.
When the waitress brought over the coffee's to end our meal....she said, I had heat up your coffee in the microwave for you. She knew that was the reason why we were not drinking our coffee's. It sure was sad. Such a nice place and they did a great job with the new patio section add on 6 weeks ago, but the food is just not the same as it use to be.
They added more parking and that is nice, but I just won't go back there again after what happened to us last night.
Bye Miramar Restaurant!!! I will remember the way it use to be.

We made reservations and arrived early for a wonderful walk on the beach. As requested we were seated by the window with a fabulous view of the surf and the sunset. The scallops were superb, the view was fabulous, the music was wonderful....really a perfect evening.
We've already started to recommend this restaurant to family & friends!

Quick-get-away from the Sacramento area.
Recommend visiting in the fall ( usually good weather & fewer people). Make your dinner reservations just before sunset to take advantage of the magnificant - fog notwithstanding - ocean view/sunset.
We found everything superb: location/view/ ambiance/food/service!
Try to leave the kids at home for this one (little pricey, albeit excellant food).
Whenever I have out of town guests, I bring them here. The food is very good and the view of the ocean provides for an excellent, relaxing place to have any meal. Even on a rainy day, when it's storming, it's a comfortable place to enjoy a meal.
We decided last minute to try this place for dinner and were not only please with the view and atmosphere....the food was excellent and they had a piano player who played wonderful music throughout the evening. It was very classy and nice yet not too overdressed. We were able to feel comfortable in what we had worn for the day. I can't wait to return!
The entire experience is wonderful. The view and atmosphere and service are just great. The food is even better than that,
simply outstanding. We live far away, but want to go back as often as possible.
Just passing by on our way to San Francisco on Highway 1 and stopped for lunch. My daughter and I just wanted a quick bite but what we had was short of a feast with linen napkins and the very friendly servers in their black ties. Food was presented so appetizingly and in abundance. This is just lunch --- I could just imagine what dinner would be! Will surely come back and will dress up a little bit.
