I recently ate herE with my husband and were very excited since a friend had told us it was good. Since it is right on the beach, we came dressed for the beach and were told we were dressed inappropriately. After returning in the appropriate attire, we were seated very quickly. We felt as though OUR waiter was dishonest and gave us horrible service. When we asked for tap water.. we received a $6 bottle of water then we asked for 1 house glass of red and were told that he would bring us something nice...a $35 half bottle, then we asked for a recommendation on a dessert and he again said he would bring us his favorite... a $20 collection of desserts. BEWARE OF DISHONEST SERVICE AND TERRIBLE FOOD... WOULD NEVER GO BACK OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.
My kids and I loved everything about Via Venuto and it is all they talk about regarding our trip to Santa Monica.
The service was great and personable, the restaurant itself was beautiful and quaint.
It was my son's birthday and he wanted Italian and being from out of town we drove around and found this place at the last minute before closing. We pulled up front and was greeted right away and and the waiter helped us choose our meals.
Though it was on the expensive side, it was well worth it and we can't wait to return and tell all who are heading that way about Via Venuto!
Bravo Via Venuto and thank you for making and taking the time to make our visit a very personable rewarding experience!
I had a terrific meal there tonight of fetuccini with white truffles followed by a main of beef sirloin with truffles, chased down by a 1998 Bricolo Barolo, and a real authentic espresso. I also got to meet owner/manaer Marco who is a very charming gentleman. Ciao Marco! Little shoes!
actually, it's by far the best Italian food outside of Italy! We've never had a bad dish there and we've eaten there many, many times. Great wines, amazing ravioli, real Italian waiters & management. great experience.
My absolute favorite - the food is amazing, the waiters are your typical Italian charmers that stop here and there to indulge in a glass of red wine, and the atmosphere is great - small candle lit place. Forget the menu, the real deal are the specials that the waiters recite by heart. Try the Spigola - it's out of this world!
