Punjab Palace, Riverside

This place has the best food I ever had in my life. Seriously. Not just the best Indian food. It is SOOOO good. The chicken tikka masala...the flavor is unmatched, really. The spinach/cheese dish--I knew it as saag paneer but they call it something different--is perfect. I m writing this because I really hope this place always stays in business. I know I ll never find another this good.

This is really the only Indian restaurant in the city of Riverside that would be considered a full service restaurant with ambience. The lunch buffet has a good selection of entrees, with a modest but tasty assortment of starters. The food tends to be a bit salty, even for someone who likes salty snacks; however, the flavors are authentic and the waiters are efficient and polite. You'll get a smattering of regional Indian specialties, the ubiquitous tandoori chicken, the requisite daal dish, palak paneer, a few chutneys, etc. As Indian cuisine is so varied, you'll never get bored- my wish is for someone to open up a Goan restaurant or perhaps a vegetarian one! A warm basket of naan is included in the price.

The lunch buffet is just great. I love Indian food, and this buffet will match up to anyone's. Spicing is mild to moderate, but the flavor is unmatched. I've never eaten there for dinner, so can't comment on that. Chicken Tikka Masala is particularly good, as is the vegetable korma.

Great restraunt, Friendly Service. The Lunch Buffet is to die for, as it is all you can eat, and there is a large selection of items to choose from. Dinner is great there too, a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The only complaint I have is the Restraunt closes between 3-5pm to clean up after the buffet, and set up for the dinner crowd. If you like Indian food, or if you never tried Indian food, I highly reccomend treating yourself to something special.

I have been going to this AMAZING Indian restaurant since 2005 and let me tell you (as an Indian food connoisseur) it is one of the best out there. I was reading some of the bad reviews and the only thing I can think of is maybe they were having an off night - but 9 out of 10 times, the food is outstanding. Yes, the decor is outdated, but that does not take away from how good the food is! I just love their samosas, malai kofta, vegetable korma, paneer tikka, chicken tikka, and aloo matar. Definitely give this place a try! You will love it!

Oddly this place is better during the lunch buffet in my opinion. I've eaten there many times and I swear one time I tried the lunch buffet and there was nothing that wasn't excellent. I ate so much my wife and I appeared pregnant for several hours. For the money, you just can't beat it. Then we had dinner and there was a limited wine selection plus the food just wasn't as good. It wasn't bad, but it just didn't compare to the lunch buffet. Suffice it to say that you will have great food at Punjab Palace. Just go during lunch if you can.

yummy. the buffet is great and yummy. for 8 or 9 bucks its really worth it.

The food was ok, but was disappointed they used cilantro on the rice instead of saffron. We had 3 orders for the table and was given very little rice. The bread was also expensive.I dont think Ill be going back, instead am going to try to find somewhere else.

Awesome place. The food is delicious, the prices are very reasonable. We go for lunch buffet almost every other week. The service is friendly, and the place is family oriented. Lots of vegetarian options, so we love it!
