No Boats GREAT FOOD
I give this place the full five stars for all five senses. People who know what they are doing.
First, as I entered, I saw great decor and happy people all around. Employees and customers all together portray an up and positive experience.
Then I heard pleasant up-beat music . . . I am an old guy, but I believe it would appeal to my kids as well as far younger diners.
Ther smell of food cooking was notably absent inside, the sign of a first class sushi bar. There was of course no fish smell that would have caused me to leave immediately.
When the tea arrived in a decorative cast iron teapot, I could feel the texture of the metal contrasted with the fine design of the modern attractive, is smallish, teacup. Obviously, these people are aware of textural ques down to the heavy metal bead curtain over the hallway to the restrrooms.
Taste was a new level for me. Everything was prepared with obvious care and understanding of the cusine. Thee was a sauce on my plate where I expected a tradidional Japanese tonkatsu sauce. before I insitsed on the expected item, I tried their sauce. It was a far better match for my meal than what I would have asked for.
All in all, I had such a great experience last Friday that I re-routed my day on Monday to have a second taste. I found different people working, and no disappointments.
NEGATIVE: the one unpleasant point was that the tap water smelled nasty. Had I ordered bottled water, I could have avoided that, but I just never think to do that.
