Consistently good tofu homestyle. If that's what you like, you won't be disappointed. I absolutely do not work here, and I think the negative reviews are outrageous. I have also recently had a chicken rice noodle dish that was tasty and nuanced.
Here's the problem: we expect Chinese food to morph into pf chang/ I love yoga/fruit-of-the-earth lightly-steamed veggie fare. Go to China and see if people eat this way.
The food is not over-salty, nor is it mired in MSG, nor is it limp or overcooked, or lacking in substance whatsoever. It is: seasoned, cooked, full of veggies depending on what you order (I assume you can read and speak), pleasantly salty, and rather traditional. I've seen a customer here have a hissy fit in line because they thought they had specified brown rice over the phone, and the chef obviously didn't understand. OK- brown rice is rarely eaten in China, people. You must be patient and clear if you want it instead of the usual white, sticky rice or fried rice. The owner very graciously apologized and went about securing some brown rice to cook for his irate customer. I mean people, chill out!
This place is authentic enough for me. It's not Four Seasons, folks, but you're paying 7 bucks for a lot of food, so get real. And stop being so nasty. I've lived all over, and I can honestly say that this is decent Chinese food.
