New Parthenon, Detroit

went to the restrunt after the last lions home game. was looking for a great dinner. when we got there it was very busy, we were getting bumped into by waitstaff carrying food and busboys.we ended gewtting a seat fairly quick. ordered our meals in about 15 minutes and recieved all our food in approx 20 to 25 minutes all except for my meal which was shimp and scallup fetachini alfrado. asked where my dinner was and they said n had a problem with the scallops so they were remakeing it. after another 20 minutes my meal finally came of coarse every body else was justabout done with there meals. it looked excewllant so of coarse i went directly went to get a scallope from my plate tokk a bite and the scallope was raw and cold. complained to the owner which was of almost no help like he forgot how to understand english. about 15 minutes later the waitress came back over and said ghe got approval to remove my meal from the bill. thats the meal i never got to eat after over being there for well over an hour. the rest of the partys food was fine but the courtesy shown by the owner and staff was awfull.

I LOVE this place! Best greek food around :) We live in Ypsilanti and every time we go to Detroit we make sure we hit this place up. Melt in your mouth lamb!!!

Parthenon...All I can say is, that it wasnt worth the bill..At All! Although the buss boys and my waiter did his job, to the T..However the Med T bone steak I ordered was ready in less than 6 minutes, was like chewing on a stacy adam..Not 2 mention Flavorless..The gusts of wind cut threw me like a machette,thats how close to the door we were..It was similar to standing in line at a fast food joint, as a customer sits in a chair and eats right there in line..Imagine that...O.V.E.R.A.T.E.D....Big Time....

This place has really gone down hill. I used to go here about 3-4 times per month for great food. The prices have increased, portions decreased, and quality left completely. I spoke the owner after a disappointing meal yesterday. His attitude showed me why I no longer see the crowds of the past. I recommend any of the other great restaurants along Monroe street.

My husband and I love this place! Best greek food around, nice atmosphere, great service. Recommend you park at the casino and walk across the street. You wont be diasspointed!

What a great experience. We have never had Greek food before but this was quite possibly one of the best meals I've ever eaten. I had the Reganato ( lamb shanks in oregano and olive oil baked to perfection)rice and green beans in a great tomato sauce . My wife had the sampler platter of Moussaka , stuffed grape leaves , spinach pie , braised lamb shanks , rice and peas. We started the dinner off with Sagonaki ( fried cheese ) Ooommmpaaa !! The service was wonderful , the wait staff very friendly and knowledgable and the prices were extremely easy on the wallet. The portions were huge . Complete dinner for 2 for under $ 40 with an appetizer...how can you go wrong there.

A small group of close friends went here recently and the food is excellent, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the service is good. This spot makes for a great night out.

Absolutely the best Greek salad in town is Jimmy's Salad. A group of us go here regularly and ALL of us order this salad. Outstanding value as well, less than $6 for a huge salad.

Used to be the best, since they started comping meals because of the Casino across the street, they but the meat in 1/4 of the original size, resulting in very over cooked meat. Taste is still there, but sorry to say they just don't care about their old customers.
