total dive, Totally good. They don't speak alot of English, but the food and flavors are outstanding. The place was packed today for lunch from local Mexicanos to engineers.
I had a carnitas taco - very flavorful and rich. And A fish taco that consisted of two large pieces of fried fish that were fried just right, not too heavy and not too light - just right. They were crunchy and full of flavor served with a pico del gal.
2 thumbs up!
I just had a chicken burrito and a chicken enchilada...they were both very good. I love mexican food and am always looking for that one place that I could always go back to...this is it. Try it, you won't be dissapointed!
Ate around 5 pm, we ordered some beef tacos on a plate. The meat was kind of cold but the tortilla flour is warm. I noticed that the pico de gallo salsa on the counter has no ice around the bowl. I got some chips and salsa. Finished the tacos together with lime juice. After an hour, I had this terrible stomach cramping pain and felt that I had to go to the bathroom to poop. Lucky enough it wasn't traffic, I made it home running to the bathroom. Still I soiled my underwear. It was a terrible, explosive, watery diarrhea I experienced after eating a this place.
Maybe, it was an isolated case, probably due to the spoiled salsa or cold meat.
I won't becoming back.
Try for yourself. Don't forget the Loperamide.
My boyfriend and I eat here when we want good mexican food. I have never had a bad meal and they are fast and friendly. Their food portions are huge and can feed you for lunch and dinner! try it youll like it
Tres Potrillos has the best rellenos this side of the known universe! It's sad that you can only order one thing off the menu at a time. Actually, the only reason this is not my favorite Mexican Food restaurant is that I know a place that makes their own home-made tortillas, with the rest of the food as good, but it's up in Atherton/Menlo Park area. Location has its virtues...
I love getting the super steak burrito. It will definately fill you up for lunch or dinner. They have all you can eat warm tortilla chips with the best salsa/toppings bar too. I love the green avocado salsa, yum!!
I visited Tres Potrillos on the recommendation of a friend. The Mexican food is excellent. As another reviewer posted, the burritos are HUGE. Upon my first visit, I ordered a regular sized wet burrito and could have sworn I was mistakenly given a super burrito.
The carnitas and chile verde plates are tasty. The torta de jamon is very tempting. The restaurant serves authentic Mexican food and always provides friendly service. A few good points about this restaurant is their acceptance of credit/debit cards, their late hours (usually open until 11pm), and their convenient location (just off the 101 in Sunnyvale).
The burritos at Tres Potrillos Taqueria are huge. Like go back to work in a food-coma huge. Tasty, too. I've tried the carnitas and carne asada super burritos and both are excellent.
You can get pretty full just munching on chips and salsa from their free salsa bar, but you won't have to wait long, as their service is quick, even when the place is packed.
