Tradewinds Lodge, Fort Bragg

I had a horrible time with Hotwire.com but the Manager (Bruce S.) at Quality Inn/Tradewinds saved my weekend- They (Hotwire) booked my hotel for 3 people with only one bed. How is that supposed to work? I definitely learned my lesson from them... Anyway, I arrived and tried to check in. Desiree (front desk) said there was no confirmation received from Hotwire so she suggested giving them a call. I then called Hotwire and after an hour on the phone (being on hold and waiting for a supervisor to call back) they finally accepted that I was not satisfied, yet I had to argue myself out of a “Hot rate” which actually would have cost me DOUBLE than what I paid on site. The temporary Quality Inn/Tradewinds Lodge Manager Bruce S. (from Sacramento) and the front desk super-friendly Desiree were highly professional in assisting an unsatisfied customer. They actually gave me a fantastic deal and upgraded me to a double bed and blew my expectations away. Thank you very much! I would have given this place 5 stars if it was cleaner, but 4 stars are realistic and appropriate.

I have been to Fort Bragg many times and stayed at a different place each time. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The indoor pool has no roof which they say is due to a renovation. I didn't see any renovating going on. We didn't sleep a wink due to the band at Tradewinds playing all night long and then all the loud drunk people in the parking lot. We had to keep looking out the window to see if people were fighting or just being loud. I got about 4-5 hours of sleep both nights. The last night the toilet overflowed and yes they plunged it but it wasn't cleaned so we had to put shoes on just to go to the restroom. This was the loudest place I've ever stayed. I'm not picky on my rooms because I only sleep there but when you can't sleep then what are you paying for? $144 after tax per night is not worth it. I called to complain after the first night and was left on hold and rather than try to find another room as I had friends staying next to me and we wanted to get on with our day I hung up and went about our day thinking night two couldn't be as bad. Well it was. Luckily because I called, they took one night off of my bill. They actually commented on the fact that my eyes were blood shot and swollen from lack of sleep for two nights so it was easy to prove my case. However my friends only got $70 taken off of their bill because they didn't actually call to complain yet we were together staying right next door to each other. If you want to go have fun and party this may be your place but if you have kids and want your sleep so you can get up eary and go enjoy your time this probably isn't the place to stay. The staff was very nice though. I had to add something positive.

The only good thing about this place ,was they give you a pot of coffee,everything else was horrible...steer clear of TRADWINDS. THE WORST PLACE IN TOWN!

We stayed there 2 weeks ago and found it to be very clean, nice beds and great staff. The carpets could use replacing or really cleaned well. Alot of reviews complained about the breakfast, we thought it was a great deal and wasn't greasy at all. But the nachos sucked. Also there was mention of alot of riff raff hanging around, we didn't see that but take into consideration there is a bar located in the parking lot. We will come back for sure. Oh yeah, make sure to go to the botanical gardens and glass beach. There is an Italian restaraunt behind the hotel in a little strip mall that was fantasticand the prices were good.

I didn't stay there, but I did eat dinner there one night. The food was horrible, my girfriend and I couldn't finish our meal.

We stayed here in April and found it to be a nice clean place to stay. I will stay here again I really liked the place. We stayed in a room where you are allowed dogs and I was supprise the room did not smell of dogs.

every summer when we go to this town, we stay here. The room is nice, the furniture comfortable, the service pleasant. AND if you get a package for 2 nights, you get a deal on eating at their coffeeshop, which WE have always found to be good eatin'. Their applepecan crumble pie ala mode is WOW!
