Different strokes for different folks!!!
By Kemba, 11/20/06
Well, I must say on the day my 5 co-workers and I had dinner, the food was very good. Smothered pork chops, broiled lobster tail and fish, um, um good. The yams were just right, not sweetened with a lot of sugar, and the mashed potatoes were just as good. We shared the appetizer plate which was loaded with fried cat fish, shrimp, and some kind of wrap, fried and jerk or bbq chicken wings with 4 different sauces. The specialty drinks were not disappointing at all. Stop after dinner, the desserts (red velvet and carrot cake) very dry and not very tasty. We were in a booth and my problem was not being able to read the menu or appreciate the presentation of the food. We had 5 candles put on the table, and still had to put the candle against the menu to read. Thats not intimate, but different strokes for different folks. On our next visit to NY, well eat there again.

P.Diddy needs to stick to his clothing line
By KEITH, 9/18/06
I went to Justins 3 times. Each time I was tortured with his horrible version of what he called soulfood. First and foremost the restaurant is way to dark, I like to see my food. The chicken was fried to hard, the maccaroni and cheese only had one cheese, not a mixture of at least four cheeses and the collard greens were tasteless. I believe his restaurant is built on hype. (dont believe the hype). In addition, I tried his seafood, that was plain awful. I am a culinary major, and I do know good food. Furthermore, I am a great caterer, and I know how to cook, he really needs to find a new Executive Chec and Sous chef, because the food was not good at all.

Perfect Date!
By onfndva, 8/23/06
As soon as you walk in you feel the seductive ambiance. The place was a little dark which could be a good or bad thing. Reading the menu was a little difficult, but looking into your date's eyes with the candle light was fantastic. The food was better than I expected and reasonable on the price tip. You get what you pay for, the portions were very good. The service was extremely on point, our waiter knew the menu like the back of his hand. He even asked us if we wanted dessert at closing time. The restaurant wasn't crowded, so there was room to be intimate. Save your money for parking though, because it is very limited and expensive. We didn't catch any celeb's that night, but we sure felt like one. My overall experience was great and I will definately go again and again.

Would never go back.
By rashan, 5/9/06
My fiancee visited this establishment for her birthday and i must say it was the most horrible restaurant experiences. We decided to try the surf and turf and lamb entrees. After two bites we asked for the check, the food was overcooked, no flavor and plate presentation was not of high standard. Me being in the service industry, i expect nothing less of excellent service from the back of the house to the front. I sat in abooth close to the door and being the only table at the time the whole time we spent i expected great service, but the staff including managers and cooks; were watching 106 and Park on Bet. From what i hear Justins plans on opening in Atlantic City, where i work. If this is the best service you can offer as a restaurant then save your self the embarassment and stay put in New York.

Don't waste your time!
By taylorsjitt, 4/3/06
I didn't like that this restaurant is located in a very dirty part of the neighborhood. The seats were dirty, the bathrooms were nasty. It is extremely over rated! The food tasted o.k. but it was over priced. Chicken cost $25, thats crazy! The drinks were expensive. The restaurant was empty! No one was there on a nice Friday night. I will never go there again.

Better than I thought it would be
By Nika, 1/5/06
The ambiance is cool, dim lighting, melow music. The food was great, could of had bigger portions though for the price, but it is Diddy'd spot. Overall if your in the city check this place out.
