Upstream Brewing Company, Omaha

If you are eating IN at Upstream I suppose it's ok. I live in the Old Market. My problem with Upstream comes from take out. Every single time I have ordered take out...when I get home I find I am missing things from my order. Last night it was soup. Usually it's sides. I really don't want to have to take my order out of the bag and apart on the bar to check it...apparently it has to be done. I don't believe I will be ordering take out from Upstream at all in the future. And as much as I have been shorted I think I will keep my business elsewhere.

I would use profanity to describe my first encounter with this place, but instead, I will tell you that thanks to their poor service, we had a great dinner at the Passport restaurant across the street. The second time, I went there we had decent food, but the atmosphere was so crowded and noisy that we didn't really talk much, as we were with friends from DC that I get to see 1-2 times per year, that was not acceptable. The third time was with a corporate function for my wife's company. Food OK, drinks OK. Were it not for the party room and having access to our own wait staff and a pre-arranged menu, I am sure that we would have had the same cruddy service the Upstream is renown for. Add to the cruddy service, their uninspired "craft beers", and you get a great place for young 20 somethings to act pretentious, but there are a lot of better places for dinner near by.

The bar is great. It is definitely one of Downtown Omaha's places to go for a cocktail. The beer selection, brewed in house, offers a great variety of brews on tap for your enjoyment. The food has always been good. I've become a fan of the Sunday bruch. It's served up buffet style but kept fresh. In addtition to the spread, there's a cook whipping up custom omelets. The biscuits and gravy are incredible... especially after a long night of drinking draft beer!!

OMG this place was recommended by hotel staff as a good middle of the road place diverse menu decent prices. The service was Horrible. I ordered a steak medium well; it was still bleeding when it arrived so I asked the waiter to return it as it was still too pink and hello bleeding. He inquires if I cut it in the middle as if I only paid for the middle of the steak, WTF. I was so offended as if I don't know what medium well is and I didn't like it so who gave him the right to question my taste. On top of that he never bothered to give me any ketchup for my fries or steak sauce and it was like pulling teeth to have our drinks refilled. Food was barely decent, atmosphere loud, and staff very rude.

This is one of the best places to go and have a good dinner, and good drink as well! I am not into their Beers, but my friends say that the Beer is fantastic, rich, full bodied, great taste. The Food is so good, always fresh and hot, and the service is always good too. I work in Food Service Management, and I am extremely picky about where I go because of bad service. I have never had a problem here. My favorite thing on the menu is the Chicken Ceaser Salad, but I use their Walnut Balsamic Vinnegrette, and the desserts, oh my the Alice in Wonderland Coffee Ice Cream dessert, and the Bread Pudding, it's worth going off your diet for! I recommend this Restaurant for any occasion! Simply incredible...

I have been several times and although it is a nice looking place I am more often than not a little underwhelmed by the food and beer.

Quality food. Gotta try the Beer Cheese Soup! Can get busy on fridays and saturdays so get there early if you don't want to wait for an hour.

Get the spinach artichoke dip, it is excellent!!! This dip is served with beer bread that is delicious. Oh yeah, the beer is good too.

Has a good beer list, we tried 4 and they were well made. The food was good as well, but the staff was a little uptight and fairly slow. Not as good as it should be given it's great location.

We were there only once, and food was great, and service for as busy as it was, was out standing. The waitress even gave us a dessert on the house when she found out it was our anniversary. And the beer samples were pretty good too.
