We have been going to the Fishwife for nearly 20 years. When we visit PG for 2-4 nights at a time, it's hard not to have every meal there. Good clean food at a reasonable price and a nice atmosphere. And what else does a person want? After your meal you can walk right down to the ocean along Spanish Bay Golf Course and watch the sunset. And the clam chowder....I guess some people are really unlucky.

Great food, great value
By ,
It's been a couple of years since we've been here, but while giving directions to my father-in-law to the Fishwife for their trip this month, I started salivating. We always try to make it by for at least one meal when we visit Monterey. It's not cheap, but it's a good deal for the great seafood that you get. One night we arrived kind of late and they ended up being open a little late for us but never even gave us any looks. Great place.

Fishwife delivers most of the time

The Fishwife is a simple place. Leave your ego outside and look for a friendly interior with food that can be very good, but seldom fabulous. It's worth going there and we do each time we visit the Inn at Spanish Bay. It's not Aqua, but at the same time, it's not Applebees!

Fishwife left us with a raw aftertaste
By ,
I couldn't believe that this place was packed on a Wednesday evening circa 6 p.m. Well, we waited for an eternity as we saw other people get seated who arrived after us (reservation-less)! That really steamed our shells! You'll have to look for my wife's review on that place...I'm sure this posting is much nicer in comparison!

We always go back there!

There's two items on the menu that we really like! The Green Lip Mussels and The Oysters. They a both listed on the Apptzr Menu. The Seafood Quesadilla is preety good to. But we hop around for little bites to try a variety of flavors. And these items are what we recomend. Worth your $$$$$

Recommended by locals

This restaurant was recommended by local residents who we met at another restaurant. It was as they said: simple, well-prepared seafood dishes served in a very pleasant atmosphere. Good value for the money -- we plan on revisiting the restaurant on our next trip to the Peninsula.

My family stops here every time we're in town. The prawns are our favorite and we never leave without some key lime pie.
