This long-time Boulder staple treats guests to an array of steaming pastas, freshly baked breads, international wines and Italian entrees in a bright and friendly atmosphere. The popular restaurant is decorated in flamboyant reds, whites and greens. It is the ideal place for a night out with friends or business cohorts who do not mind a bit of noise. Arrive early just two blocks west of the Pearl Street Mall , the restaurant draws a full house nightly. Share a pizza or go solo with a variety of standard dishes including lasagna, ravioli and manicotti.
just want to thank you Jay the other day Rick Roberts Steve Strassman and myself dined at your establishment (oops ) as always you made us feel at home we ended up having a great music conversation and things to come thanks again your pal kyle
We have walked by the restaurant many times over the past few years, and there was always a long wait, so we never ate there. Well, tonight we finally had dinner there with an out of town friend, and I must say, it was one of the nicest dining experiences we have ever had! The drink at the bar was a great deal, and the bartender even gave us garlic bread for the wait. Our waitress brought us samples of 2 wines that really helped us with our choice- never had that before, and it was great! We all had the salmon special, and it was fantastic! The only complaint was no Splenda or cream for our coffee after dinner, but the waitress did bring some whipped cream for the coffee. She was a great waitress, the service in general was great, and we will definately go back again!
OK, I've read the reviews by the people who don't like good food. (There really are people out there like that) Pasta Jays is far and away my favorite Italian place. My favorite place of any kind. Everything I've tried has been excellent. My favorite is the stuffed portobello. The atmosphere is really nice. They can open up the windows on two sides when the weather is warm enough. It's in Boulder, so the views are awsome. Especially when seated outside. The servers are always very friendly and helpful. I've dined there
maybe 100 times and only twice has the food or service been less than a perfect 10. Don't listen to the bafoons who can't be anything but critical. (Makes then feel big and important, I guess) Try Past Jays yourself and write your own review.
It's funny this place has gotten such bad reviews. It's really like an Olive Garden, but better. And that's the way to describe it. If you are craving the old fashioned Italian-American fare of stuffed pastas and good sauces at decent prices, than this place will quell that craving. If you want more upscale flavors, I recommend Baccaro just up the street.
I dined at Pasta Jay's in late September of 2008 and the server told me they were franchising. I guess they are looking to be the next McDonalds of Italian. It sure tastes like it. Bad service, bad food and cheesy atmosphere. The only good thing about this place was the hot wait staff.
It's unbelievable what some restaurants will pass off as food these days. If you have ever wondered what monkey vomit tasted like, then this is the restaurant for you. Our server actually admitted she will not eat there herself.
Great Place, very tastey. But I got sick a few hours later. I threw up once an hour for 4 or 5 hours until all the pasta was gone. Pasta doesnt taste the same coming out. I was dehydrated and had body aches. I also had mild confusion and disorientation. My wife got sick also, she was throwing up and she had diarrea, I had to find a bucket for her to throw up in while she was sitting on the toilet. I told her to throw up in the tub but she said that was gross. We layed in bed side by side for 2 days. We sipped on orange juice and laughed at our misery.
