Swordfish - Running strong in its 9th year, first opened in Batavia in the spring of 2004. Swordfish is a contemporary sushi and grill restaurant that delivers fine dining at its best and leaves you with an experience that will have you coming back for more.
This is best sushi restaurant in the Fox Valley area. Food is wonderfully prepared and presented. Atmosphere is sophisticated, but cozy. Wait staff attentive but don't hurry you. A bit pricey, but a great dining experience. Well worth it.
I cannot believe an upscale Sushi bar is in Batavia. This is not your normal sushi bar! Expect to spend about $100.00 for a couple when you go. Do not skip out on the house salad, and get the catipillar roll. Boyfriend had the steak sashimi and he said it was the best he has ever had.
So much better than the Sushi House!! There were no bones in my fish! And everything was cooked perfectly. The Chef's special was delicious! It has a very nice atmosphere, especially at night. Good prices, very friendly service. I love this place!! Thank you Sushi House!!
The previous reviewer was smoking something before he went there, Swordfish is the BEST!!! You do realize they have handwashing stations in the kitchen with sanatizing soap. Perhaps the staff person prefered that over the guest bathroom. Whatever you do, be sure to have a house salad. The homemade ginger dressing is to DIE FOR. My hubbly has the sushi combos, and I have the Salmon Teriaki, which is a grilled entre from the kitchen. So you don't have to be a sushi or sashimi lover to have a great meal there. It is a bit pricey (we've spent over $100 with drinks a time or two) but well worth is. The desserts are worth saving room for, too. Sitting at the sushi bar usually gets you a free little taster if there are not too busy. I love the place and would eat there once a week if I could afford it!
Ok, I'm a total sushi nut so naturally I was happy to see that I could get sushi without having to drive to Sushi house, Ra Sushi or downtown. But, no such luck. We had multiple hairs in our rolls, which completely ruined our meals. Not to mention one of the staff was in the restroom and didn't wash their hands. Nasty. I can't stomach the idea of ever returning nor can anyone else in our party that evening.
One of the best sushi restaurants in Chicagoland! The service is excellent and the ambiance is soft, elegant but not overpowering. The Crunchy Muffy and Smoky Bear is the best sushi there! I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Japanese food, especially sushi.
