Oasis Sandwich Shop
This restaurant is popular with locals and with those who enjoy authentic Cuban food. Stop by during the day for a quick inexpensive lunch or snack. Try homemade Cuban specialties such as Paella and Croquetas. Coffee lovers should try a potent Cafesito. The restaurant is noted more for its food and helpful staff than for its decor, which is plain and functional. Seating is limited.
...but Angel, Gian or Lalo have to make it for you. Pancho is pretty good with the coffee but his portions are limited. The croquetas are excellent and go well with a drink.
If you need a laugh or a cry talk to Pancho. He can orient you on life's many mysteries with a Colada, but please make sure he gives you the total dose, he's shy about giving a full serving. He is very careful about client's caffiene intake.
Another great event is Lalo singing his favorite song during christmas, when he asks in spanish (bi-lingual restaurant)....quieres que te toque el wi chi cho.
What a great place, eating, singing in spanish and english!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes the deserts are made fresh every day.
As for seating, it is plentiful. My 3 kids love the endless counters, and I the beautiful concrete stool outside. What a great place. See you everyday in the morning at 8:30am.
Looking for an inexpensive alternative to high-priced and fancy dining? You can't go wrong with the Oasis off of Harbor Drive in Key Biscayne!
The coffee is very good and potent, the choices of entrees are plentiful and most of all, the prices are great!
Should you decide to stop in, keep in mind that this coffee shop has no seated dining area so be prepared to take the food with you. I recommend the croquetas and the tortilla espanola, but the other choices are good as well.
I give this small coffee shop the highest rating because everything here is good!
The cafe con leche con azucar is the best ever. It sets the standard for a cup of coffee. I have found nothing comparable anywhere. And the service. Remember personal service where you feel like you matter? You get it here! The Oasis is well worth a trip to Key Biscayne.
if you want real cuban food and you find yourself in the paradise of key biscayne, i would suggest you visit the Oasis. try a small cortidito (a very strong and delicious coffee) with sugar and the chicken with red rice. if you are looking for an adventure i'd suggest ordering the fried bananas - the best you will ever taste. When in the area dont think twice before visiting this taste of cuban heaven.
