Once you have been to Chantecler you will become a regular. Business lunches, intimate lunches or dinners, small groups celebrating....you cannnot go wrong. The bar serves wonderful wines and top shelf drinks and the food is always excellent, includiing the deserts. Presentations are artistic, service is consistently great, with wonderful people. Location, decor, just very tasteful.
It can get a little noisy during the popular dinner hours, so eating a little early for those of us who like it quieter is a good idea. I suggest reservations to insure that you will not be disappointed. I give them five stars and will be dining there this evening. Enjoy!
I have had several fantastic experiences here. The wine selection is super, the specials eclectic, and the menu is made from fresh, local in-season foods.
The night we were here in July, there was a jazz duo playing softly on the patio under the Magnum ancient Cottonwoods. The server helped us pick a nice Pinot Noir that the entire table enjoyed.
The menu changes seasonally with vegetables and flavors well-matched to the time of year. You won't be disappointed.
I'm not disagreeing with the other reviews about the quality of the service, food, or the atmosphere. All were five-star. But I'd like to give a warning about the bill before you visit Colterra.
Their entrée prices are all $20-30, not $10-$20. For $10-$20 you only get their half-portions. The Colorado Lamb was delicious; I asked the waiter for a pinot noir to match it, only to discover he had selected a $16 glass.
If you don't mind paying $100 for dinner for two, this is the right place! We'll come back for a special occasion.
Went for Valentine's Day which is pricier than usual because you get a four course meal. The date tart was awesome, our service was great, and you get a wine pairing with each course, however the quality of the food did not seem worth $110 per person. Also, we sat near the kitchen where we could hear one waitress complaining at or about other employees as she came in and out. Other than that a nice experience, the building is amazingly rustic and beautiful.
One of your better restaurants around. Went for lunch - good value, good sized. Excellent selection of beer - how many restaurants have German organic wheat? (which was tasty, by the way). Staff knows what they're doing, knows the menu, not afraid to make recommendations.
If you don't mind something very fattening, try the snails as an appetizer. Parking is easy, and the service is excellent. Surprisingly for a restaurant this good, they don't enforce a dress code, but it's good to dress up anyway. I really recommend making a reservation, although I'm not sure if this is required. The prices ARE on the menu, but they don't look like prices as they don't have dollar signs before them. This was a great experience and I'll certainly be going back.
