I used to go to this restaurant a lot but then moved to Brooklyn. My husband and I went back last weekend and what a disappointment. The place looks shabby and rundown. The bouillabaisse, which used to be the best in the world (in my humble opinion) tasted burned and greasy. In fairness, my husband did like his tuna sandwich. I would like to see them upgrade the decor and steer the diner to another choice if a certain menu item was not well-cooked on that particular day.

My 14 yr old son and I went there last Friday for Oysters. It was very busy and crowded when we arrived. We only waited about 20 minutes. The staff were all very friendly and extremely attentive. Can't wait to go back.

The food was excellent. The wine list was not very extensive, but was not bad. The ambience could be improved (it is SOHO, but not SOHO-chic.) All in all, if in the mood when the main focus is good seafood in a casual setting, and when some ambience and service shortcomings can be tolerated, this place may just hit the spot.

This is a really good place to go, all the sea food there are so fresh. And you must try their dessert, I will definitely go there to enjoy the good food again and again

I've been dining at Aqua Grill for a decade, and there is no mystery in why I keep returning. It's the food, impeccable service and talented kitchen staff that will surely guarantee its permanence in Soho as a solid retainer of the freshest, high-quality seafood that is second to none. No matter what time of the year I dine here, or evening, I am instantly recognized by staff waiter Michelle, the friendliest gal I've ever met. Originally from France, Michelle knows and practices the noble art of conversation. She personifies warmth and togetherness, with a smile that illuminates the whole restaurant. The proprietors of Aqua Grill are husband and wife, and the husband (whose name temporarily escapes me), also serves as head chef. Because of the chef/owner's kitchen oversight, accountability to the food, preparation and presentation are critical factors in customer satisfaction. Every detail is flawlessly executed, from the amouse bouche that is served after diners are promptly seated, to the artistic arrangement of petit fours at the end of the meal. It's a five-star experience nestled onto a corner of Soho that does not succumb to pretentious, hoaky overpriced dining productions. The food is definitely expensive, but worth every tantalizing morsel. The raw bar is immaculately clean and always displays an impeccable array of the freshest little neck clams and briny New England oysters. Aqua Grill is one in only a privileged category of high-end seafood restaurants that I patronize. My friends, family and out-of-town guests tend to favor this hotspot because of the lively crowd, casual, elegant ambience and Soho location. May I also add that the dessert menu is equally impressive, as all creations are freshly prepared on the premises--and all are first rate. When looking for a cut above the crowded, theme-oriented mega salons of Manhattan, Aqua Grill provides the highest levels of service, quality, freshness and satisfaction, in an understated yet cozy setting, where fresh seafood always attracts a discerning palette.
