Horrible experience. The service was exceptionally bad and the food was far below average especially given the fine dining price points. Skip it. There are too many other options in LA that offer better food and service with the same opportunity for people watching.
Well, since they got rid of those fancy stuffed mushrooms a couple years ago..not worth it anymore. Expensive, but not all that great. Also, the dining room is very crowded in so much so that its uncomfortable talking about personal issues since a stranger will be 20 inches from your face. I can not figure out why they are so busy.
I wish i should have believed my friends who warned me not to go there. The prices are sky high and the taste and quality is crap.I had better food from local chinese take out. They overcharged, service was crappy with a lot of attitude from waiters.Dont waste your money order from your local chinese takeout and thank me for saving you a bundle.
Average Food, No Celebrities, too expensive, overpriced
By A Yahoo Contributor, 6/28/07
I went to Mr. Chow a few times with my friends for lunch or dinner. My expereince is: average food, small portion, overpriced(five-eight times more than other much better Chinese restuarants), very crowded(the table steel leg hit my leg while I tried to leave the seat). I also didn't see any celebrities there.
If you like Chinese good food. You should go to Alhambra, Montery Park and San Ganbriel. The food is real Chinese food. You can eat very fresh seafood with a large portion, less price.
All waiters expect big tips. The bill kills you like a pig.
It is for wealthy celebrities who has no place to spend their money.
The most important thing, Mr. Chwo food is very average, no better than Panda express. My friends paid all bills for each time dinning because he is living close to Mr. Chow.
I don't recomment Mr. Chow.
Dined at Mr. Chow on April 23, 2007. Super
disappointment. Tables are so close, you have to ask a waiter to pull it out if you want to go to the ladies room. The noise level is so high that you can not carry on a conversation. Food only average. Can get the same food at our neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The only reason to go there would be to see some celebs-that would be it!!!!I would not recommend this restaurant. If you have to go, ask for the perimeter tables, not the inside tables.
