The Grill on the Alley

Description

The Grill on the Alley was opened in 1984 as a living tribute to the great American grills of yesterday. In time, it has established itself as one of the country's leading restaurants, praised by writers across the country. The menu is classic American grill - prime steaks, fresh seafood, traditional dishes such as chicken pot pie or meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and homemade desserts. Named to The Fine Dining Hall of Fame by Nation's Restaurant News, The Grill is home of the entertainment industry's "power lunch," but is also open for dinner seven days a week.

The staff is kind genuine and helpful. I called just because i liked the bathroom hand towels and they were happy to look up that information and follow up with me and i was just on the phone. They make everyone feel welcomed. Thank you again ;-)

Worst Dining Experience EVER! An arrogant manager who seemed to take pleasure in making our party of 4 wait for a table...spoiled the evening. She even remarked that she would have no throwing us out even if it was Chanukah. The main discomfort came from knowing that The Grill employed overtly hostile, small minded managers to in effect oversee a long time dinner spot in Beverly Hills. At this point in time....it looks very much like The Grill will go out of business in a similar fashion as The Bistro Gardens. Those of you who have been around Beverly Hills long enough to remember the sad, sad behavior that ultimately closed a very good restaurant.

It'll be a highlight of a return trip to Los Angeles

The food was impeccable: I had liver and a friend had a veal chop that I tasted. I am going back for the veal chop, grilled and juicy. The wait staff is impeccably-trained and humorous. The prices are high but worth it, to recall the feeling and flavors of those marvelous chop houses that existed in most American cities. -Maria

best in town

We ate at The Grill in november 2006 and will return there when next in LA. The steaks were superb, the staff were first class, the ambience was relaxed and friendly. We had a wonderful night and will recommend The Grill to our friends.

Great food, worst valet ever
By ,
Great food for about $50 per person, which includes appetizers, main course, and desert.

The steak is great. Also heard lamb is good as well. The salmon and the assorted vegitable are so-so.

The next morning we found that my car was scratched at the corner and the clutch of my wife's explorer was destroyed.

Just for this, I'm not sure whether I'll go back.
