Ick. I lived in Mexico for 2 years, and this is not Mexican food. There are 3 better Mexican restaurants in town, one being right down the street from mexican village. Go there instead!

Best Mexican in town. The food was fantastic, the proportions were large, the staff was great and the price was acceptable. Depending on the time of night, you can expect a wait to get a table, which should tell anyone that the food there is worth a try. The atmosphere is interesting, as you feel like you're in an outside veranda even on the coldest of Minnesota nights. Would highly recommend Mexican Village.

I was recently in at the Mexican Village as I was passing thru town. Stopped in with my husband and son and the food was great and the service was outstanding. Had a waitress named Amy and she was such a sweetheart. Very helpful. I don't think waitstaff get the credit they deserve for how hard they work! The chips and salsa they bring out a head of time are wonderful!

Fake mexican

If your idea of fajitas is a whole piece of chicken with some sloppy tomatoes and onions under it, this is the place to go. This is an american restaurant, not mexican. They use way too much cheese and everything is greasy and poorly displayed. Do not eat here. It's really that bad.

It's a put down

Being Hispanic myself I would have to say this is the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. Nothing is authentic other than the meat itself and even than it doesn't taste well. I would not recommend this resturant to anyone. Go to Mazatlan there food is authentic and not straight from a can.

Better then home cooking

Love this place. As i have moved out of town now, everytime i visit Mankato i have to stop in and eat. Food is great and the setting is just as good. Plus the salsa is killer!

Ok, but not to mistaken for authentic.

I have actually eaten here many times. I enjoy the ambiance with it's festive decor and the portion size is well worth the value. The food it's self is good, but like many Mexican restaurants in the area fall short of authentic. I was delighted when I discovered the real thing just a few blocks west. I would recomend this place for children. The fountain in the middle of the dining room is a fun touch.
