El Azteca, Minneapolis

Tasty food, great value and large portions. Great booths and atmosphere, chips and variety of salsa is exceptional. A well recommended treat.

Very good food!!!!! I go here at least once a week. The food is always good and comes out fast. I highly reccoment eating here.

we told the waiter we were two people, were seated and then waited and waited and finally got up and found someone to get our waiter who then told us we were waiting for a third party. he was rude when we ordered and then we played the waiting game again until we found another person in order to get our bill, waited again for him to come and then after waiting again for him to return finally decided to go to the host to pay the bill. sadly, to say the evening turned out to be a dismal affair and can't even remember if the food was good.

I went into this place and sat down at the bar. Every staff person working there ignored me. I continued to wait 15 minutes until I got up and left. Horrible!!!

I used to go to this restaurant every friday. I noticed on my credit card statement that I got charged twice for my food. So I took my statment in and asked the manager if he could fix it. He got really angry and started raising his voice at me. I would go back if that jerk didn't work there and I am scared that I will get charged twice. He also said that that happens all the time with people that use TCF bank and Wellsfargo...maybe they have a problem.

I highly recommend El Azteca. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the margaritas are large and tasty! My party was really impressed by the quality of the chicken in our meals (you could actually tell it was chicken!). I had the Taco Loco, and I've been craving it ever since. YUM!

We love this place. Even on a busier evening, our dinner was served 2 1/2 minutes after being ordered. Normally this would make me think of mass produced food; however, the chicken is fresh tasting with great flavor and the shredded beef has been slow cooked and soaked up all the spices. Overall, El Azteca offers a large selection, good portions, affordable prices and the fastest service this side of the Rio Grande. Dos Equis on tap too!

I LOVE this restaraunt!!! The food is excellant and the staff are wonderful! The food may not be what many Americans think of as Mexican.The dishes are a variety of latin style food from different parts of Mexico , latin and south america.The food is not overly spicey but can be made so or you can spice it yourself with the sauces at the table.Contrary to popular American belief , not all latinos cook their food spicey....in some areas it is customary to allow the one eating to spice it according to their personal taste.(seems the polite thing to do) Azteca makes the BEST CHimichangas you will find anywhere.Also I would highly reccomend the Texas Fajita which is a combination of CHicken, Shrimp and beef mixed with vegetables and seasoned just right! The Azteca Loco , a tastey chicken and shrimp dish is also DELICIOUS as is anything made with the chorizo.For desserts, I love the Dulce Delece.I am not always fond of this traditional Mexican dessert as it can be made too soggy.BUT at Azteca it is perfectly wonderful!!!!Many of my friends love the flan also. The prices are very good and the portions more than enough...some even enough for two people!!! I highly reccomend El Azteca which by the way is located in Plymouth, not actually minneapolis.It is right by the Plymouth theatres in case you want to enjoy dinner before or after a movie.

Ate lunch on a busy day. Didn't have a wait for a table because turn over was high. But the service was slow, our server had difficulty understanding us, and the food was average. They poured so much sauce on the entrees that there was little else to taste. Portions were large, but that seems to be that standard any more.

Food is good, its not bad for being in the middle of Minnesota. Lots of traditional Mexican dishes to choose from. Staff are very friendly and eager to please. Food is flavorful and portions are adequate for the prices, which aren't too offensive to the wallet. Make sure you save room for dessert. We make it a point to go there a few times a month.
