I used to eat there all the time because it was great but not anymore. I keep giving this place the benefit of the doubt but that is finished. Complained about a dish some months ago that did not taste right or smell right. They did nothing. Last week I had their Egg Foo Young( which has gone down in quality by 75% because of all the bamboo shoots and carrots they use),and I got sick as hell. Food poisoning to be precise. It is now three days later and I still do not feel well. AVOID THIS PLACE. I eat all the time in dirty third world places and never get sick and now I get sick a mile from home? Go figure. David

We used to go to Kimson every time we attended a Bloomington Civic Theater show with our friends on a Saturday night. The last few times we went there, the service seemed to be getting worse, and even though there were few other patrons, our food took forever to be served. When entering the restaurant, no one greeted us, the food was becoming mediocre, and when we finished eating no one was around to give us our bill. We got the feeling that the management and servers really didn t give a damn, so we started going to Sawatdee, and that s where we go now because the service and food are much better!

This place has been around a long time. I went there tonight and ordered what i get all of the time vegi spring rolls and curried mock duck. This place has gone way down hill the spring rolls you could tell were made ahead of time. and the curried mock duck had no spice and little mock duck it was all bamboo shoots and little sauce. I complained to the waitress who has been there for years. She just looked at me funny then yelled something in a differnt language to the back of the house, I drove from Farmington to get there last time i will eat there!

Ok..me and my buddies had an interesting experience today. We had a craving for vietnamese Pho(noodles) and didn't want to drive to nicollet to get some Quang so we decided on Kimson which was much closer. Mind you this was our first time. As soon as we were seated, the lady welcomed us by telling us they close in 20mins. We sorta looked at each other with a WTF look. I think at that moment, she basically killed our apetite. As she rushed us with our ordering process, asking me what i was going to order 3 times in a min, i gave up on looking through the menu and just stuck with my usual. We ordered some egg rolls for our appetizers, 2 pork and 2 veg since one of my friends was allergic to pork and the other was a vegetarian. Well...all the Egg rolls were served on the same small size plate, they were nicely cuddled up against each other. Oh and did i mention how wonderfull it tasted..srsly i wanted to puke. By now our expectations had sunk so far down even BP couldn't have saved it..o wait..nvm. So now it was our main course..PHO..the most common vietnamese dish..seriously..i told myself this should be good. I mean how can someone eff up their most common/famous dish. Oh i forgot to mention at the start that i was in the bathroom before i started writing this review. The fried rice was..i'm not sure what it was. Rice tasted like it had been sitting all day and the peas were so dark it looked like blueberries. Another dish we ordered was beef w/garlic sauce and that my friends was the worst out of all. i'll leave the description to your imagination. And for the Grand Finale...our bill was on our table before even one of us had finished our meal. Meh..no big deal, it wasn't like she had been earning a huge tip or anything. Generally tips are 15% for decent food etc etc..the number goes up with the atmosphere, service, waitresses :) but mind you this restaurant lacked everything in everything. So my friend who was buying the dinner left her with what the Indians had invented..the number Zero! As soon as he put the pen down after signing, the lady jumped over from behind us and reminded him that he forgot to write the tip..and if we were leaving cash. So yah..we just kinda smiled and walked out. I think my friend felt embarrassed that she had asked for tip and left her a $2. To end my theisis..haha.. I'm personally never going back and don't think my friends are either. So Ladies and gentlemen, please save yourself a bathroom trip and just drive right by. If your looking for a good vietnamese place..i'd say Quang is one of the best in the cities.

This is by far the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in. My boyfriend and I decided to go here because it was 1 of only 2 Vietnamese restaurants in Bloomington and we were up for trying something different. Upon walking into the restaurant, we were very disappointed with the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant. Because we didn't want to stay in the restaurant that long, we decided to simply do their buffet for $6.99. Biggest MISTAKE! Every entree dish tasted stale and old! The chicken had a horrible refrigerator taste and the rice was partially cooked. The only good thing that they had were their wontons...which had some mysterious meat inside. At the end of the night, I had the worst stomach ache, which I attribute to the restaurant and their old food. Another downside on their buffet is that they didn't label any of the food, so my bf and I were left guessing. Overall, DO NOT EAT here!! You're better off eating elsewhere if you don't want food poisoning!

Their service sucks, can't even understand English properly. I asked for cream cheese wontons and the lady gave me spring rolls that was smelly. Asked for coke and never got it. POOR service. I WOULD never go there, as this Vietnamese owners are RUDE!

I had the Happy Pancake which was listed as a house specialty. It is made with rice flour, coconut milk and turmeric and served like an omlette with vegetables, pork and shrimp inside. This was sooo good I can't stop thinking about it and can't wait to go back there.
