Ok..me and my buddies had an interesting experience today. We had a craving for vietnamese Pho(noodles) and didn't want to drive to nicollet to get some Quang so we decided on Kimson which was much closer. Mind you this was our first time. As soon as we were seated, the lady welcomed us by telling us they close in 20mins. We sorta looked at each other with a WTF look. I think at that moment, she basically killed our apetite. As she rushed us with our ordering process, asking me what i was going to order 3 times in a min, i gave up on looking through the menu and just stuck with my usual.
We ordered some egg rolls for our appetizers, 2 pork and 2 veg since one of my friends was allergic to pork and the other was a vegetarian. Well...all the Egg rolls were served on the same small size plate, they were nicely cuddled up against each other. Oh and did i mention how wonderfull it tasted..srsly i wanted to puke.
By now our expectations had sunk so far down even BP couldn't have saved it..o wait..nvm.
So now it was our main course..PHO..the most common vietnamese dish..seriously..i told myself this should be good. I mean how can someone eff up their most common/famous dish. Oh i forgot to mention at the start that i was in the bathroom before i started writing this review.
The fried rice was..i'm not sure what it was. Rice tasted like it had been sitting all day and the peas were so dark it looked like blueberries.
Another dish we ordered was beef w/garlic sauce and that my friends was the worst out of all. i'll leave the description to your imagination.
And for the Grand Finale...our bill was on our table before even one of us had finished our meal. Meh..no big deal, it wasn't like she had been earning a huge tip or anything.
Generally tips are 15% for decent food etc etc..the number goes up with the atmosphere, service, waitresses :) but mind you this restaurant lacked everything in everything. So my friend who was buying the dinner left her with what the Indians had invented..the number Zero!
As soon as he put the pen down after signing, the lady jumped over from behind us and reminded him that he forgot to write the tip..and if we were leaving cash. So yah..we just kinda smiled and walked out.
I think my friend felt embarrassed that she had asked for tip and left her a $2.
To end my theisis..haha.. I'm personally never going back and don't think my friends are either. So Ladies and gentlemen, please save yourself a bathroom trip and just drive right by. If your looking for a good vietnamese place..i'd say Quang is one of the best in the cities.
