Been eating at this location for years, like 20.... I love thier turkey... I talk with David the GM 3 times a week, FYI they were just nominated for the Richfield/Bloomington food safety award, two years running, the award is hanging on the wall as you walk in. I dont know what these other people are but I know Dave and hes the best thing thats happed to that resturant in years.
I've never been treated so poorly as I was at the Old Country Buffet in Richfield, MN. I haven't been here in years, but I know the way it is supposed to run. You get your food and eat, leave the plates at the edge of the table and people pick them up. So, as my party's plates stacked up, no one picked them up. After awhile, I contacted the manager, David. He basically said they were too busy and if I had a problem, I could leave. This is BS. I recommend everyone boycott OCB in Richfield, MN.
Food here is dependably consistant. The taco meat sits soaking in fat. The green salad fixins very good, but customers are messy and cross items into the bins. The beef is good, and the end cut (best part) sits on the board waiting your call! The battered fish and shrimps are lousy (all breading). The chicken is very good. Pickled beets better than Mother's. The cheese on the salad bar is tastless. Meatloaf fairly well spiced. Ham is over cooked and no flavor. Coffee is average or better. The keilbasa is super fatty. Never tried the pizza. Cherry tomatoes are hard and unripe. The china dessert cups are hot out of the dryer and melt the ice cream instantly. (this pi**es me off) The cobblers are good, but nearly all crust and little filling. The carrot cakes are average, but the fosting will grease your larynx for a week. The cookies are nice, as are the brownies. The lemonade is weak. The wait staff, especially Roberto, is courteous, I leave a tip! Many people steal food there and that is wrong. A lot of the customers are morbidly obese, too bad. Parking lot is just so-so. This is one of the original stores and it has been remodled a little but a lot of the customers are ghetto-sheik. It is a happy place and I go there a lot for people watching.
The worst food I have ever had. Every time I eat there I get sick. It is overpriced and underspiced. It has no flavor what so ever. I would not waste my time thinking about eating there ever. Unless you want to get sick don't eat there!
One could describe a dining experience here as "the best tasting show in town." Knife blades glisten and diners "ooh"
and "ahh" as they watch the chef chop and twirl his utensils while preparing the meal tableside. While watching ...
