Benihana - Minneapolis, Golden Valley

We went with a party of 7, we were immediately seated, and that ended the good part. The chef was of Hispanic descent, which detracted from the Japanese theme. The salad was bland, the show was less than average, the rice was served before the food was even started cooking, so it was cold by the time our meat was served. Individual requests were ignored after they were solicited. The food and show were not worth the price of the meal, and they couldn't wait to clear people out so they could get more in. I lived in Japan for over 4 years, and believe me, this was nothing like it.

Three words: DIS GUS TING I'm a fan of sushi and sashimi, as well as tempura stuff, but this was THE worst I've ever had. You can get much better at your local grocery store that's been sitting on the shelves for a week. AVOID at ALL COSTS. And come on - a restaurant without windows? What are they hiding? Probably the fact that they offer garbage for food.

The food here is top notch. Plenty of dishes to choose from along with drinks. you will find once you go you will be back again.

I just don't think it's worth the money, you're just paying for the show more than the food.

Setting was below expectations although the meal was great. The service was average and cooks were not as exciting as most. I would not recomend visiting unless you are a diehard Benihana fan.

It was my first experience at the place and although it was cool to see people flinging food about, I wasn't keen on sharing the table with strangers. I also thought it was very little food for what you paid. It was interesting but nothing I would want to wait 40 minutes for again.

Benihana is the ultimate dating restaurant. It is unlike any other restaurant because you get dinner and a show with the chef preparing the meal directly at the table. The fried rice with shrimp sauce is amazing- the new menu is awesome- and they even have a sushi bar! Groups of 4 or more need reservations but usually a group of 2 has no trouble getting in any day of the week just with a short wait time! GREAT RESTAURANT!

I have been to a number of Japannese steak houses like this one. I found the food was about average, nothing special. The price was much higher than other places, and the show was average as well.
