A trip to Minneapolis isn't complete without a trip to Uncle Franky's. Was introduced to this place by our daughter. She has severe food allergies but Uncle Franky's makes it your way and uses prime products. Can't wait to visit again! Try their Nordeaster if you like turkey and the works, with or without hot peppers.

Great Summer Quickie!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/29/10
Uncle Franky's is a great place to go on a summer day, sit out side, eat a hot dog and an ice cream. Fast service for good prices!

A "working man"s restaurant, Uncle Franky's serves your hot dogs, hamburgers, and french fries perfectly grilled and served with an enthusiastic shout. The food is unforgettable and the people are very friendly. They serve sweet relish on most of their stuff (it's dark green and delicious) and much to my surprise, authentic Philly Cheese Steaks (wid or wid-out). Enjoy Franky's in the early afternoon to avoid a rush and recommend it to a friend!

better than chicago
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/9/06
moving from bucktown a few years back, i craved my hometown tom tom tamale, i visited all the local spots for beef and dogs either red hots or vienna, love nathans as well, but none had my tomtoms, a friend brought me to uncle frankys last year and low and behold there they were, the guys from downtown and hooked me up in my own hometown, i actually believe that uncle frankys makes a better dog than in chitown, atleast its a little cleaner, go at lunch its a rush, dinner is mellow, lots kids, they say they close with the sun, their in northeast minneapolis, not sur.e exact, think website, thanks dude, a guy from bucktown n boystown.

1422 miles away and well worth the journey!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/05
I am an ex-Chicago area native, transplanted to Portland Oregon. Ever since my nephew Nathan and my brother Cliff introduced me to Uncle Frankys, I have been making the 1422-mile trip to visit the relatives more often! WONDERFUL hot dogs, with a variety of additions. The burgers are as one would make them at home, if one had the time and talent. The owner is a side-show by himself, and I think the cook speaks a perfect "ScoobyDoo" dialect.

franky fridays
By Maureen, 11/23/05
i occationally eat here with co-workers for lunch. Think "diner" meets fast food with a fast pace, tight seating, and music loud enough to hear over the sizzling flat grill. Shout your drink order as you walk in the door and your food order is shout out to you when it's done. Food is hot and yummy! Co-workers go for the chicago dog and the burgers with grilled onions, peppers, and pickled relish. I go for the turkey myself.
