The dining area was clean, wait service courteous, professional and attentive, food came out quickly and was exactly what we ordered. The food was very good, fries were delish. Order the Original Juicy Lucy and it was good, the bun was good and the burger itself was good. True the patties are not really seasoned but I think that would take away from the masterpiece. A lil bit of mayo on the bun fixed it right on up. Those who complain about the service or the cleaniness of the bar were probably there at the rush hours. It s obvious this place gets packed so if you don t want to wait an hour for your burger or possibly have to wait longer if you need something from your waiter I suggest you don t go here during the mass feeding hours. We went at 4pm on a Saturday, after a football game and had no wait to be seated. Unlike Matt s Bar, the 5-8 Club is more convienent because it takes cards as payment (but it might take longer to checkout during a rush) and has ice. Matt s doesn t even carry ice. All in all a nice local burger joint. I would eat here again.
Horrible experience. One of the women up front was rude to our young daughter as soon as we walked inside. The place was filthy. We sat down for about one minute and decided that it wasn t worth the potential illness from ingesting their food.
We ve heard that the service sucks there, but wanted to go with the Food Network s recommendation. Glad we skipped these losers.
Went down the road for some better food.
Service is slow, food is good. Restuarant was dirty, there was food on the floor and pull tabs everywehre. We went for the juicy lucy, which was yummy, but if your looking for an exceptional, can't be beat juicy lucy try the Buffalo Tap in Savage and get their El Diablo Jucy Lucy (I always get mine with buffalo maeat). Hot, juicy cheese stuffed in a big burger topped with habenero bacon, jalapenos, and barbeque sauce.
I really like the burgers and cheese curds here, but TERRIBLY SLOW service...I'm not exaggerating, I'm WARNING you.
Go during a Viking or Packer game. Most seats have a good view of their many tv's and they always show the popular sporting events (no sound and some tv's don't have closed captioning).
And maybe by half-time you MIGHT have your food-or atleast have found a server to place your order...but the food is usually worth the wait! IF you're in the mood for a good greasy burger!
Everything on the menu is very good. They are especially famous for their burgers. But the service is ridiculously slow! You would think it is in their best interest to be more attentive and faster so they can turn the tables over quicker and get better tips! Also, the bar area is very difficult to navigate. Too many tables stuffed into that area.
