Tier 1 Steakhouse
Murray's is a well known and revered authentic steakhouse. You may want to get reservations to ensure seating is available.
What I've eaten there: Golden butterknife steak, hickory smoked shrimp, crab cakes, walleye and wild rice spring roll.
Thoughts: Seriously excellent porterhouse steak (golden butterknife). Easily the best I've ever had. Not only are the cuts of meat obviously top tier, but the seasoning, cooking and carving are also expertly handled. It's what you would expect from one of the best steakhouses in the US. The appeitizers are also fantastic. Well matched flavors and creative choices make the dining experience memorable. The servers and their assistants are obviously well versed on how to handle each customer, and they meld right into the group you're dining with, completing the service.
The piano playing in the background along with a fancy ballroom-ish dining hall are throwbacks to a different era which serve to remind you that it isn't any ordinary restaurant you're eating in. The ambience can be a bit romantic for just a group of friends, but the ambience is what makes this steakhouse feel authentic, rather than suburban-generic like so many others.
Overall, expect an appeitizer, couple of drinks and a couple of entree's or a shared multi-person entree to set you back $100-$150.
