Since 2006 the Barracuda's has gone through a lot of changes. It's become the happening Fairbanks club on Saturday night for hip/hop, R&B, and some pop. The crowd is pretty young and the music is very mainstream (stuff you might hear on the radio). There is usually a line after midnight and the line is usually there till around 2am. The cover before midnight is $3 and after it's $5. The place is super busy, a little smoky, and can get hot...especially after dancing! The bartenders are all very nice but they do get busy so it can take a while to get a drink! They have several security guards so it's for the most part a safe atmosphere.
I have been going to this bar since I had turned 21, I went every weekend. my favorite part of the bar was the band, Showtrash. Then they became Dillan Mama. But, I never got tired of the company that the bar provided. The live music was always my favorite part. I never really like the music that the DJ had provided. I never really liked the Kareoke either. The other good thing about the bar, is that it was never extremly crowded. The bartenders are great people, they know what you like to drink, if you are a regular there. But, over all it is a great place to go over the weekends.
When I first turned 21, My best friend and I hung out there just about every weekend, It was a happening place back then, Great live band, good dance floor, Outstanding drinks, and the bartenders always knew what we were drinking, A few years ago they changed the layout, added more pool tables, sunk the dance floor, changed bands but they were still rockin', Now they offer karaoke which is cool, I was a lil disappointed the last time I was there on a weekend, no band, almost no crowd, but the drinks were still great, I heard they were getting another band so hopefully it will get back to it's original greatness that I remember
