I went to Hula Hands for the first time today for lunch. Since it was during the lunch hour, the parking lot was fairly full, and only a couple tables open. We were brought menus quickly.
My lunch date ordered kalua pork and teriyaki chicken off the lunch combo special, and I ordered kalua pork and a side of poke shoyu (ahi, or raw tuna, with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and onions).
The poke arrived quickly. The chunks of tuna were mostly free of any connective tissue, and were tender and flavorful from the marinade.
Soon after our meals arrived. The kalua pork was roasted and shredded pork. It was on the salty side, but very moist and tender.
I tasted my date's teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki was sweet, but not overpowering.
I was jmpressed with the quick service and tasty food. I can't wait to go back and try the other types of poke.
