Bear Tooth is by far the BEST entertainment in Alaska. Fantastic food and movie all in one nice price that you would normally pay to see a new release with a bag of stale popcorn, some M&M's and a Coke. Bear Tooth is still the best date I have ever had with my husband & kids. By the way, it is the ONLY way to spend Superbowl Sunday.
This is a fun family place, packed with locals. A 20min wait to get in during the dinner hour, both the food and service are great. Although my mashed potatoes had way too much garlic, the steak is one the best in Anchorage, and their apple-pear crisp is delicious. My waitress was very friendly, and even brought me an extra ice cream when she realized mine had nutmeg on it instead of the cinnamon it was supposed to. Check it out!
The main area is really good for a quiet dinner...lots of fusion food and unique tastes! The real place to go however is the movie house...order a delicious meal and watch a just out of the theater movie for two dollars or so...it is the best place in town to go for a dinner and a movie all at once...a great way to spend an evening!
While visiting my friend in Anchorage, she took me to one of her regular spots, the Bear's Tooth. The place was usually crowded and I can see why. The menu offers a great selection with my favorites including the peanut noodles, the garlic fettucine and the Alaskan salmon. The beer selection is varied and quite good and they have some creative margaritas. They were willing to mix some beers to make some of my favorite drinks, like a snakebite (a beer and cider mix).
My favorite was the movie theatre. I had never been to movie theatre that serves alchohol and food to you during the movie and it was great to have that during a movie. The sound wasn't so great as the dialogue was hard to hear most of the time.
