Food is really good atmosphere is excellent and the friendliness of the staff is exceptional- a visit to your table by George is the highlight of the evening- the orignal owner and pure Italian his hospitality exceeds all- do not expect fast food this is a relaxed atmosphere and one can plan to spend 90 minutes to two hours enjoying
My girlfriend and I dined here recently and I have to say that this is the best Italian restaurant in Anchorage. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and charming. The lighting is perfect. not too dark not too bright (too bright seems to be the common theme for restaurants here in Alaska blaaah!! Our server was very friendly and made us feel warm and welcome. The food... oh my the food.... Simply delicious! I have been to Romanos and Sorrentos and hands down this place blows both of those places out of the water no question! Ninos is the only other place that I would consider decent Italian. Try this place , you will not be sorry.
Delicious! Ate here for a birthday dinner just a while ago. The cheesy garlic bread was delcious (make sure to get a side of marinara sauce) and very garlicky. Calamari was tender and not rubbery. Garlic dip wasn't very garlicky, but nontheless good.
For my entree I ordered the seafood crepes. Wonderful and rich...very rich. The side of potatoes and creamed spinach were also delcious. Everyone else I was dining with greatly enjoyed their meals as well.
This place is the best restaurant if you like Italian and French cuisine. Everything is homemade from scratch, and if you see something that isnt on the menu that you would like to eat, Chef Georgio (the owner) will make if for you if he has the ingredients. The fish we ate was extremely fresh, and the way he cooked it made all the difference. Ahi, Salmon, Halibut, Sole, Rockfish, Cod when in season. Great food, and the desserts are to die for, the list is told to you and there are like 15 or so of them to choose from, and the best part is, they're all homemade!
George , the owner and chef, makes everything by hand. He was trained at Cordon Blue in France (and returns annualy to teach),and has had many award winning San Francisco resturants. He is the best chef in Alaska. If you have not
tried his food, you have missed out! On Artic, just before International.
Start your meal off with a roasted garlic head with beer batter bread (USD6) served with spreadable gorgonzola cheese. Then
press on to the choices of pizza and salads. Try the Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Pizza, white pizza (Greek ...
