I am huge fan of Asian cooking of all sectors and If I could have rated this restaurant with negative stars I would have. My lady and I have decades of cooking experience with foods of many different cultures. We usually do all of our own cooking (especially on the weekends). My lady worked ten hours of overtime on Saturday (money we really need) and I spent the entire day (after a fifty five hour work week + nine hours of driving time) canning tomatoes from our garden. After a conversation on the phone about dinner we decided to do takeout and my lady suggested the âPho Vinaâ which we had not tried before. After what is less than a 5 minute drive from the restaurant to our home, we plated up the food immediately (we were both starving!). The breaded, fried calamari was cold and stale. After a couple of minutes of trying to chew this cold rubber , all I could swallow was the stale breading and I had to spit out the rest. All we could stomach of some sort of a beef, vegetable stir-fry which was made with some sort of thin sliced, precooked, processed beef covered in some sort of cornstarch gravy was the beef itself. The vegetables in this stir-fry in my experience tells me they are a combination of canned and frozen vegetables that were both cold and undercooked (If you have ever eaten undercooked, cold, soggy, chewy carrot slices that were previously frozen then you know what I mean). I seriously doubt that even what I think I identified as Bok Choy was fresh. I would not even have handed this garbage over to a homeless guy that I have to pass by everyday on my way to work because I will have to pass by him again on my way to work on Monday. About the only thing hopefully positive I could possibly say about the over TWENTY DOLLARS of fast-food from this restaurant that we ended up washing down the garbage disposal is that I hope somebodyâs Great, Great Grandma was called in at the last moment to take over for the main cook who called in sick with the flew. I am going to assume that the other positive reviews that I read on this restaurant were written by relatives, friends or employees of this restaurant, or people who are too inexperienced to know what quality food should taste like. The cheap, frozen TV dinners we ended up eating to satisfy our hunger on this Saturday evening were far better quality than the garbage served by the âPho Vinaâ. We wonât be stopping by there again.
