This place is banking on it's spectacular view. I don't know if whoever owns it cares about it's quality of food or service though. When i went, I was on the balcony, over the river. It was marvelous for about 30 minutes. Then the server started bringing out breads, butters, appetizers and drinks. Our little table was so covered, we barely had room for our silverware.
Then the food came. I was not impressed by the preparration of the food. I could tell that either the steak was poor quality meat or that whoever prepared it was not really into my particular dish. It tasted like lunch meat and had a consistency of a thick peice of wet cardboard. Overrall, I love the atmostphere and it did get me laid but, the food isn't worth the price and the staff is suspiciously uninformed about food. I doubt I will be going back to this establishment when there are so many really interesting places to eat in Spokane now ( piano bars, fondue, vegan buffet etc.)
I always get great service, the food is delicious as well! Prices are worth the food! The portions were very nice as well. I ordered a ceaser salad which was delightful and then the Cajun Fet. and it waqs mouth watering! It filled me up and I had left overs to take home. I got the Benyays* Not sure of spelling. AMAZING It was like heaven in my mouth. My server was a charming young man with a great personality. The manager walked by and was very up beat and happy. It is a very friendly atmosphere. I would recomend it to anyone that is looking for one of the best meals they will ever have.
I have visited Spokane any number of times and I finally made it to Clinkdagger Restaurant. Now I'm disappointed that I hadn't gone there previously. The restaurant has excellent food, the service was also excellent and the waitress was cheerful and prompt. I would strongly recommend this restaurant for a charming lunch. If possible, try sitting outside by the river, the view makes the experience even better. I will definitely be back each time I come to visit Spokane--they've earned a fan.
Dont get me wrong. Clinkerdagger is a great restaraunt. But my wallet felt as empty as my satisfaction of the meal. The ambiance is amazing and will definitley set the mood it seeks to accomplish. Set in the bowels of a 'novelty mall' I was immediatley impressed. The view of the Spokane river is amazing. The menu left my mouth watering in anticipation of a great meal. That's were the experience fell short. I brought my appetite, which was a mistake. If your hungry, dont expect to be filled with the small portions being served up; despite the hefty prices. Me and my date had an appetizer salad and dinner and I barely got full. A couple of glasses later I asked for the check, which totaled over $90. I would probablly not go back. Not because of the service or environment. I would not go back because of the expensive prices and the less than inspired food.
