DON T EAT HERE! I wish I could give this place no stars because it s that terrible. The food tasted like nothing, even after I added a ton of sauces, the vegetables smelled like they were rotting, the soy sauce on the table was from 2007, the soda was in a glass that already had water in it, they didn t even give me the full can, just half and kept the rest. It was $12 for the buffet and $2.99 for that half a can of soda. The people were rude, the place stank like a porta potty, and like I said before, the food was horrible. Never going there again.
As others have said, everything is greasy and icky. The food quality has gone waaaay down hill from previous visits. The WORST part is the mean old asian lady who glares at you and likes to overcharge. We went in for the 2-5PM $6.99 special a couple of minutes before 2PM but waited at our table till after 2 to get up to get out food and guess what!!! We were charged the full amount at checkout. The asian drill sergeant was so rude and nasty about it, I put a big bag of garbage meant for the dump at the entrance~~~It fitted in sooooo well the decore~~~the bathrooms were the dirtiest I have ever seen in a restaurant. Too bad I can t give minus stars.
Mongolian Grill is my favorite food, and I usually go there once a week. It is an all-you-can-eat buffet. What I like the most is that the meat there is better than other Grills I went before. Comparing the price here with others is a bit high (around $1~2) but is reasonable.
It is a great place to eat, though the service is sometimes not so well. I guess the reason why is lack of servers. Overall, I would recommand this place to get your stomach full with a reasonable price, including rice, suop, spring rolls, woton chips, and ice cream.
I've eaten there a number of times, and the food has been good. The atmosphere is light and it offers some healthy options. The price is reasonable...good option if you are taking teenagers out to dinner with you.
I will have to agree with most of the peoples review here. Im gonna lay it down right here.
This place has really fallen of the beaten path lately. I used to go there all the time for great food, buffet style and u can make it how u want it. The price is kinda iffy but hey, its all u can eat.
The owners are very nice people, but the cleanliness if definitly lacking. The food stations were very dirty and messy, the meat choices were lacking, there was barely any meat in there to begin with and the sauce tray was horrible, it was soo messy, im sure each tub of sauce was a mixture of all the sauces together.
I just think they are trying to save costs but are doing it in a way thats hurting their business. Overall, I believe if this place does not shapen up, they will close down pretty quick. I see less and less people go there now.
I have lived in So Tacoma for a number of years,so I have occasionally ate at The Mongolian Grill. I am stumped. why all the negativity about this place.Okay fine dining it's not,but why complain about $14.00 for a meal? sure, you hand pick what you eat,and they grill it,but that's what's fun.
It's a nice place to go for a quick bite, usually for lunch. The food isn't Bad either I would say try it!
There was one chef for a lot of people. The food was not very good. The worst part was getting the bill. $8.99 for my 4 yr old who ate half a bowl of food and $4 for my 2 yr old who ate a quarter of a bowl of food. What a rip off! Of course the prices are not clearly displayed anywhere.
I remembered the place from years ago as a fast homey place. Good food and not crowded.
My last visit in July 08 was dissapointing. Took my wife, and foolishly neglected to ask about prices or for a menu. You get your choice of soup, rice, then select your food buffet style, to be cooked at the end of the line. A selection of various meats and vegtables and a rather messy selection of sauce ingredients that the chef will grill and serve in a clean bowl.
Can be a good deal if you know what sauces you want and go through the line repeatedly; we thought $13 was out of line for the self serve style and lack of service.
I entered this rest. this evening with my family. The cook station is just to the left of the door, it was not in use and was dirty with crusty food on the surface. The food stations were messy and the food in the tubs were either empty or looked like they had been out all day. The prep station was dirty. We quickly turned around and left.
