Tugboat Annies is a great little casual dining restaurant located at Westbay Marina in Olympia Washington. We have great burgers, great views and great customers. We feature reasonably priced tasty meals in a low key, fun and nautical setting. We provide catering services as well as event space through our partnership with the Viewpoint Room, located just beneath us. Being a waterfront establishment, we also rent kayaks and have a whole fleet of easy to operate kayaks for use. Our full bar offers a great selection of beers, micro brews and mixed drinks as well as big screen sports, lotto, pull tabs and a pool table.
I have been going to TA for 12 years and love the atmosphere and service staff. That said, prices have been going up at an unreasonable rate, they are now using a very small salad plate to serve dinner and food falls on table, and consistency is unreliable. I noted that Fish and Chips is advertised on menu for eith $11 or $14, but was charged $18 for dry and marginally burned fish.
All in all, I like TA, but food quality is not good. Too much emphasis on trying to overcharge and they have forgotten about quality of food.
the food is really good but the service ruined it for us. the waitress was obviously having a bad day. we over heard her say that she would like to leave early and it started to get busy so instead she had to stay which most likely the cause of her pissed off attitude. if your so annoyed that you pour water into a sprite and a chocolate milk and then say oops and walk away and not fix the problem, maybe she should of called in?? we dont get to go out to dinner much so we see this as a privledge and she should be greatful that we drove way out of our way to enjoy a meal, if i wanted crappy service i would have stayed in my own town. im in the service field as well for work so i know what it means to save face and rely on tips so im always a great tipper but this was the worst ive ever been treated and left no tip. thanks tugboat annies
We love this place, especially in the summer! Whenever we have guests from out-of-town, we bring them here for the Sunday morning 'breakfast and kayak' deal. It works out great.
The only problem we ever had was a late Bartender and only one under-age Waitress on duty, thus we were unable to get any Bloody-Mary's. Not the end of the world, and God Bless the young girl, as she was a 'one-woman-show' trying to hold the whole place together until the older crew decided to come to work. She was Busy, but remained in good humor, and service was still good (wish I remembered her name - she deserves a pay raise).
Been here a few times before and it was a good experience. Today, awful and it wasn't that busy. Trouble getting seated at the table we requested outside. Once seated, took 15 minutes before anyone noticed we hadn't been asked if we wanted to place a drink order. Then, took 15 minutes to get our beers. Ordered steamed clams...another 20 minutes. Ordered dinner...took forever! Everyone around us we spoke with was complaining about the fact there were several waiters but it tood forever to get drinks and dinners. The catfish 'special' was only so-so with little or no flavor. Our waiter was good...when he came by. Not sure we'll be back unfortuately because it is such a great place to go by boat. Also, the lower outside deck had a number of smokers who stopped by there. The cigarette smoke wafted up to the outdoor seating area - gross.
Tugboat Annies catered our dinner at the View Room and what a great job they did. The food was outstanding. Many people commented on it being the best food they had ever had at a catered event. The staff was helpful and courteous and a joy to work with.A+ to Tugboat Annies and everyone that made our night unforgetable.
The atmosphere was relaxed, and rustic, the view is fantastic, the wait staff are excellent even remembering a month later what we had eated the month prior, the food is among the best, and it was so quiet one day we stayed for hours chatting....a romantic dinner. Once there was a band playing and so it was more crowded and louder than our first visit but still very enjoyable. One night I went there late for drinks and enjoyed myself because of the quiet atmosphere and there has never been any pressure to get you in and out.
