Stopped by there this afternoon for lunch and had a terrific meal. The Fat Smitty burger is huge and tasted great! Burger, fries and a pop, friendly staff and a very unique wall decor.
When you stop at a roadside diner out in the country you should always expect roadside diner taste and this place has it. If you want 5-star cuisine, don't leave the city.
You're worried about cleanliness, but yet you're sitting on the toilet crapping and typing on your laptop at the same time??
I enjoy their huge burgers, and have never been sick. When you are not used to eating a lot of grease, tho, that might make you sick. But it's a favorite stop of ours on our way up to Sekiu.
SO how exactly do you end up with a three star review when both reviews that have been posted are 1 star. Do you start out with five stars and have to have been proven that your resteraunt sucks balls or what...
I went to Fat Smitty's with a group of 6 on Memorial day 2007. Although the atmosphere was great, the quality of food was lacking. Thinking maybe this was just a one time bad experience, a buddy of mine and I decided to go again. Not knowing the hours, we mistakenly showed up on Tuesday. Not open on Tuesday or Wednesday. We committed to the journey once again on Thursday. My friend ordered a Smitty's Burger and Chili Cheese fries and I ordered shrimp and chips. His burger was fine. The shrimp and fries tasted like they were cooked in oil that had been used since the day they opened or something. Needless to say I felt sick, couldn't finish my food and have been crapping like I have some kind of stomach plague. In fact I'm sitting on the toilet typing this on my laptop right now. I give this 1 Star because there is no option for a zero. Not only that, but I think there may be a possibility that they pay off the health board. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't 1 dollar bills one of the dirtiest things on earth and contain the largest traces of cocaine of any paper product known to man? There is a mirage of 1 dollar bills throughout the establishment available for a fix. Speculation, of course.
