The Melting Pot - Tacoma
Situated in the hub of Downtown Tacoma, the Pacific Ave. location provides a casually elegant, intimate atmosphere. The relaxing 4 course experience begins with cheese fondue prepared tableside. Fresh salad follows while your entree pot heats up. You'll simmer a variety of tantalizing meats, seafood, & vegetables. Each morsel is hot, fresh, & flavorful. Entrees are accompanied by an array of dipping sauces to add to the fun. Your choice of chocolate fondue is the grand finale, served with a variety of delicious dippers. Many have stopped by to satisfy that fondue craving after a concert at The T Dome, a visit to the Chihuly Glass Museum, or a family outing at the zoo. We feature an extensive wine list, fresh trendy cocktails, & specialty martinis. It's the perfect place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, overdue date night, family night, or a group gathering!
If you love fondue like I do, this is a great place to go! You get to cook while you are dining in a relaxing atmosphere and they have great wines to go with your food as well. For a relaxing night with amazing food, I recommend the Melting Pot to anyone.
This restaurant is very good and the quality of food is high. The meat/seafood is served Raw and you cook it Fondue Style at your own table over a fantastic drink and hopefully great converstaion! I have visited this Tacoma location a few times and it has been wonderful each time. Reservations are a good idea because it is a really nice place, a great place to take someone special. I will definitely be returning.
I loved all the food, everything was delicious. I recommend the burgundy herb sauce for the meats and seafood to cook in, it was soo yummy! Go there with a very empty stomach because with the price being so high and the food being so delish, you will not want to leave anything untouched. Perfect dinner for a couple or even a party of friends.
Order the 3 course dinner and dessert. Mmmm, the cheese is so good and the chocolate fondue is incredible. My husband and I always stuff ourselves way too full. The wine list is great too.
My only advise is, if you go for just dessert and they seat you in the bar, insist on a table with a burner. Bringing that pot out and setting it on a cold table is very disappointing.
The Melting Pot Tacoma. I really liked this place. I like the Orange-Passion Fruit martinis even better. There's a roaring fireplace, couples scattered here and there, jazz is piped in via satellite. The appetizers are great, dinner even better, and desserts are heaven. By far, the best part is that the staff is not lingering at your table making you uncomfortable enough to leave. This is a leisurely experience, totally Euro-style. Dont miss this one. Go in, have a couple of 'tinis, take the appetizer and sit with your date for a while. Talk to eachother. It is definitely worth it!
The Melting Pot is such a great place to go if you have a few hours to enjoy yourself. I recommend getting a bottle of wine to enjoy with your dinner! Great atmosphere, employees ... all in all a wonderful experience!
Needing an escape from life for a few hours, my husband and I often find ourselves retreating to the Melting Pot. The total experience is a couple of hours, and you are given plenty of time to chat, hold hands, and remember what life was before kids.
Your best bet is ordering the dinner for two. You can modify it to your liking.
The quality of meat & veggies served is wonderful, I highly reccommend the mushroom salad. Don't waste your time with the lobster, but do go the extra mile for the Coq a vin oil. Believe me. No matter how full you think you are, order coffee and dessert. ANY dessert you get will be EXCELLENT, and know that you will just HAVE to come back to try the rest. Your server will be very knowledgeable & very friendly, so remember to forget about sticker shock when the bill comes and tip accordingly. They will have deserved it. Remember, they just spend the last 2-3 hours kissing your butt.
Make reservations and be prepared for parking issues.
