I have no idea why Ranchito lists algonamexicanrestaurant as a contact for the computer crowd, but it has nothing to do with them, according the the man I spoke with at Ranchito. Except for losing half a star for this and half for being part of a non-descript storefront (they d be MUCH better-located in the old Mr. A s building on the corner of Meridian and Milton Way, I think), I feel Ranchito is arguably the best Mexican restaurant in these parts. Enjoy!
The four star rating is relative to the few dining options around Milton. Ranchito offers a nice meal in a very friendly environment. The staff is always very attentive and the portions are plentiful. If you want to stay local around Milton/Edgewood this is definitely your best option.
I eat here quite often, Being a single parent raising a pre-teen, I work fulltime and get off late. I call my order in on my way home and just pick it up. I LOVE THEM!!! IT IS ABOUT TIME THEY HAVE GREAT MEXICAN IN EDGEWOOD/MILTON. I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT!!
Don't let Ranchito's location in the Safeway Supermarket parkinglot fool you -- Ranchito is a wonderful place to eat!
First, the refried beans and rice are a meal in themselves, next, the ambiance is unpretentious yet festive, homey and happy. Inside there are live pothos plants entertwined and spreading from one end of the place to the other above comfortable booths, there is a faux rooftop with a rooster atop of it, and cheerful Mexican music playing in the background. The foodservers are friendly, always ready with a basket of chips and a pitcher of ice water. Along with the complimentary chips are two kinds of salsa, a cooked kind and a very authentic mexican variety made with fresh onions, cabbage, jalepeno, etc. It is wonderful! Also nice -- Ranchito has many windows. Contrasted with the windowless other Milton Mexican place - Melaque - across the street.
Ranchito has a much fresher, sunnier feel to it. The lunch specials are so affordable! For just under six bucks you can get an awesome one-item combo with rice and beans (try the spinach enchilada! It's amazing!) The lunch price is less than a subway sandwich! With a family of four, Ranchito
fits our tight budget and our longing for a comfortable cheery place to eat with GREAT food. Absolutely our favorite place to eat out in Milton!
Ranchito is even better than Motezuma's. The staff is the nicest of anywhere I've ever been. It doesn't look fancy , but the food is incredible!! The mexican rice is better than any we've ever had, and every entree is so good.
