Down Riggers Commercial, Port Angeles

After reading earlier reviews I almost decided not to go to Downrigger's but then I thought I should at least give them a chance, I must say I was pleasantly surprised! My waitress Michelle was very friendly and helped me decide on what to eat. She was very attentive and only took 1 1/2 minutes to get my soup and bread, knowing I was starving:-) My meal of crab and shrimp fettucine was excellent and it came out right as I finished my soup. All in all I had a wonderful experience and will definitly return again! Jane Benton, Lakewood, WA

This was the WORST resturant I've ever been to. We ordered oysters and they were NOT fresh..smelled bad but the chef assured us he just shucked them. I doubt that. The fried oyster appitizer was overcooked on the outside and not done on the inside. The clam chowder smelled and tasted like potatoes..no clams there. We canceled the rest of the order and left. I would NOT reccomend this resturant. We travel alot and this was the worst I've even been to. The view is awesome so it is okay for drinks but I'd be afraid if I ate the food I'd get food poisioning.

My wife and I spent our one year anniversary on the Peninsula and were directed to Downrigger's from our desk clerk. It took fifteen minutes to get seated. The hostess was curt at best, and the waitress was incompetent. The appetizers arrived after dinner and were the wrong order. My beer was spilled all over the table while trying to remove my chowder bowl and no attempt was made to clean it. I had to use my own napkin and was actually denied another when requested. The food was at best mediocre and well overpriced for the irritation we were put through. Worst recommendation ever. My advice? Avoid this place and go to The Bushwacker and follow it up with Ice Cream at the Basking Robbins across the street, which was the highlight of this horrible experience. Downrigger's, you will never see us again. Complete and total waste of time and money.

This is the place to go for that romantic dinner. You have complete unobstructed views of the ocean, beautiful! The atmosphere is dark with the rustic fishing/nautical decor. The food is delicious and service great. Their chicken parmesan with fettucini alfredo is my favorite. As the previous reviewer states, the chocolate cake dessert is heavenly, however the last time I ordered it, it was still cold. I have been there numerous times and will return.
