Island Cafe, Anacortes

As a regular customer my wife & I are always greeted with a smile from their friendly, family staff, co owner Marcy & her wonderfull children Monica & Carlos always greet you with a smile! Island cafes meals,salads & deserts are fresh & plentyfull! I would highly recommend their restaurants in Anacortes & or Oak Harbor for an enjoyable traditional family expeirence.

I would give this place no stars, but it won't let me. Upon walking in, you think you're going to get the typical pleasant cafe experience with great food and service. However this is not the case. Remarkably, for an establishment over staffed with 4 waitresses for the post breakfast time, getting a glass of water after being seated is impossible. I went with a friend and my daughter and it took us 10 minutes to decide what we wanted, yet 20 minutes to have our order taken. In between our order and receiving it, not one waitress checked to see if we needed refills or anything. She managed to check at every other table though. We sat and ate our food in a noise filled environment because the customers across from us thought it was okay to let their child behave like it had no manners. The waitress thought it was cute though and spent a fair amount of time doting over the ill mannered child. I'd had enough and wanted my check so I could leave, the waitress walked past us 4 more times before I finally got up and went to the register where I was rudely told she would be there in a minute. Another 10 minutes later, I finally got my check, not bad overall for 3 people, but it took another 10 minutes for the 2nd waitress to come get it. To this experience, getting anymore money from me in the form of a tip wasn't happening. Instead I left them with words of advice on proper customer service and how my experience there displayed their lack of it. Oh and to top it off, my friend got food poisoning from their Eggs Benedict's hollandaise sauce. Needless to say, I'd rather punish myself nutritionally at a drive thru then ever go back to this place!

Island Cafe is a great spot for the whole family to enjoy a bite to eat. It has breakfast served ALL DAY! The huevos rancheros and the steak fajita omelette are my personal favorites. The kids have their own menus and the service is great. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by the amount of locals that eat there. The last time we went to eat there, every table was full and people still didn't mind waiting. The kitchen staff does a great job of keeping up and every plate comes out looking great and tasting better! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is passing through town and anybody who lives in Anacortes and has not discovered this little treasure of a restaurant yet.

I love this restaurant, this is the best restaurant in town,the staff is great!!! pleasant and most important - the food Large portion, large omeletes and a very extensive menu. Drinks,coffee, wine, beer and the finest of Potatoes Rancheros and Raspberry French Toast for breakfast hits the spot! This is a great place to enjoy breakfast with your significant other, friends or just alone with a paper to relax! Love this place!!! They have wonderful dinner!!! A great combination of Steak & Lobster, Steak & Shrimps, Steak & Pasta, Fish & Chips And the best Clam Chowder of the world.!!!!!!

The Island Cafe has a friendly staff and really good food. It has fair prices and they have great menu's for the kids, And they now have a new location that's much bigger then it used to be. I personally have no complaints about the restaurant. It wont disappoint too much or if not at all.

HAD WONDERFUL FOOD AND PLEASANT SERVICE AT A GREAT VALUE. VERY,VERY CLEAN RESTAURANT.

FAST, FRIENDLY SERVICE. GREAT PORTIONS. BEST 5-STAR BREAKFAST IN TOWN, BEST CLAM CHOWDER ANYWHERE, GREAT FISH AND CHIPS, ESPECIALLY ON FRIDAY, WHEN IT COMES WITH THEIR GREAT CLAM CHOWDER. JUST MOVED TO A NEW, LARGER LOCATION.
