Living up to its name, this wonderful little eatery serves up dishes from all over southern Asia. The husband and wife team that run this restaurant have given it the stamp of their personality. The seating, either in booths or at a counter, is comfortable and the chartreuse and royal blue decor is bright and cheerful. On warm days ask to sit outside on the deck off the second floor. A wide range of dishes from Malaysia, China and Korea are featured. The chow mein noodles, dumplings, Masha pancakes, Asian ravioli, sauces and dressings are all homemade. The dinner menuthere are separate menus for lunch, brunch, vegetarian and for kidsoffers Asian tortillas filled with vegetables and meat; eight creative vegetable dishes (tofu can be substituted for meat); and an absolutely huge list of meat, poultry and seafood dishes. There are more than 20 wines available by the glass or bottle, and ten types of bottled beer.
I've been a fan since back when they were called Panda's. Their take-out is great, I just wish I lived in their delivery area!
I like everything on their menu. The dry sauteed green beans are great, but my favorite veggie dish is called Pandameinia - a bunch of vegetables on top of homemade noodles, YUM. My favorite meat dishes are sesame orange beef and lamb curry. The lemongrass ginger salmon is great but it isn't offered every day. You can choose white or brown rice with your meal.
It's a good place for vegetarians. They have lots of veg dishes and they only use veggie stock, not chicken, so you can just have them substitute tofu in any meat dish.
The first time we ordered food delivered, it arrived over an hour late. It was slightly warm, but at least they comped it. A month later, we tried again. The food arrived on time, but our order was incomplete -- missing moo shu pancakes and plum sauce. Perhaps dining in is the way to go with this place; I will avoid delivery in the future.
