Coastal Kitchen

Description

A pink and blue neon sign marks this colorful Capitol Hill spot. Artwork by local artists adorns the walls, and warm afternoon sunlight streams in through the large bay windows. The menu features excellent seafood, steaks, pastas and salads, along with a rotating menu focusing on cuisine from different regions of the world. Recent specialty menus featured food from India and Portugal. Weekend brunch brings hordes of diners from the neighborhood and beyond for the excellent scrambles, omelets and French toast. Service is friendly.

On a recent vacation in Seattle we decided to get breakfast here. Great food. You gotta try the Corncakes. They are pancakes with corn in them...who would've thought?! They have a great menu, friendly people and good coffee.

I'll be back....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/07
Great service from David at the counter. Good food, Interesting crowd..I met 3 people adjacent who were a lot of fun. And by the way the hash browns were to die for (and I AM a connoisseur when it comes to them)....Next time the cupboard is bare on Saturday morning and I desperately need a latte & eats you know where to find me. Also fun audio and art.

Breakfast quality...slipping
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/14/07
We have, for years, had tasty, well seasoned and good breakfasts. The last two times have been quite dis-appointing....oily.greasy hash browns, hash browns with little or no seasoning, and a generally blah taste. The ham today, was tainted with some other flavors, not the fine food of earlier visits. it appears that an attentive and present owner might also spot and correct these repeated deficiencies.

This place is AWESOME!
By Jarod T, 2/16/07
I live near this restaurant and go there as often as I can. I have never had a bad meal here and the service is great, too. I've gotten friends of mine as far as away as Spokane hooked on this place and recomend it to everyone I know.

GREAT & OPEN LATE
By sansQuestion, 6/7/06
New themed cuisine, beverages, art... quarterly, plus a variety of comfort food staples. Be adventurous-- everything I have tried there has been great. Dont miss the lavatory language tutorials. Service is good, pricing is reasonable for the quality, ambience is fun and it's open late.

By Denise Rhiner, 8/20/04
Everyone should experience the restaurant at least once, for breakfast and dinner.
