I don't know why anyone still eats this crap. There is a mystique about Dick's that goes way beyond reality. The burgers are small, greasy, gristly. The fries are sort of okay, by McDonald's are better. And all this served up with surley attitude by indifferent staffers. Kidd Valley, another Seattle burger chain, has by far the better fare. And, yes, I do eat a Dick's burger every once in a while - it does two things: Confirms what poor eats they are, and two, to grease up my insides. Works every time.
Dick's gets a lot of word-of-mouth advertising and someone I know compared it to In-N-Out Burger in California. Dick's is no In-N-Out. The burger was too small and think, like a McDonald's burger. It was pretty ordinary, not at all what I was hoping for. The milkshakes, on the other hand, are very good. Go for the shakes, not the burgers.
Dicks is one of the best fast food eateries in Seattle. It is a short drive from where we live in Renton but it is worth the drive. My 16 year old daughter loves it and takes her friends there all the time. I love the deluxe burgers.
OMG... Dick's was the bomb... One of my regular hang outs back then... Loved the greasy fries and hamburger for cheap... Especially the milk shakes...MMMmmm... Haven't been to Seattles', but every Friday nights hangout was at Dick's in Spokane, WA.... Still go everytime I visit...
Dick's is all about nostalia..my mom ate there when she was pregnant with me-I went there as a teen after parties..I lived in California for a few years and never go the jist of in and out burgers-but its the same thing, its what you grew up with..I hate sitting outside though-its Seattle!
I grew up on Dicks Deluxe and whenever I go to Seattle I make it a point to head over to Dicks to get my Deluxe, Fries and Chocolate shake. This has got to be the best of the worst and I highly recommend it to anyone living in or visiting the seattle area. I enjoy Dicks on 45th.
