Taste of India
Mohammed Arfan Bhatti, son of Mohammed Bhatti - the man behind Northgate's Saffron Grill , brings the same flair and passion for Indian cooking to University District . Taste of India is in fact, one of the best places in the area to experience a lovely ambiance and authentic Indian cuisine. On the menu you will find traditional specialties like Tandoori Chicken, Jaipur Masala, Coconut Curry and Tikka Masala. And those who've already dined at Saffron Grill will not be left feeling disappointed, as the same signature Mediterranean dishes are served here. Beer and wines complement the offerings as do the rich desserts. The overall experience certainly makes this restaurant worth a visit.
we have been there many times and LOVE the restaurant. Every time there is a free appetizer and the bottomless chai is amazing.
Service is great, quick and attentive. Food is fresh, very tasty and plentiful.
A great place to eat!
Doesnt look like much from the outside but the inside was very clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and checked regularly to make sure everything was ok.
The food was excellent. I tried the Baingan Bhartha and the mint naan. The entrees come with a rice pilaf so I actually could have skipped the naan. The naans were HUGE and yum but a little greasy, so I would probably ask them to ease off the oil the next time. The vegetarian delight (appetizer) and kulfi (desert) were great. My friends told me that their mediterranean food was good too and the grape leaves in the appetizer was awesome.
Food is fabulous, atmosphere cozy, service outstanding, servings ample & chai bottomless... Tikka Masala w/ lamb is my favorite w/ paneer naan, baba ghanoush & chai. For dessert I love their mango cheescake, kheer or galab jamun. People who don't think they like Indian cuisine always enjoy the butter chicken or coconut curry & garlic naan. Many vegetarian choices. Beer selection is extensive. Parking is a bit challenging. Cedars on 50th&Roosevelt is the same food, just more crowded.
